Lufthansa to Offer Year-Round, Nonstop Service From Montreal to Munich
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 4, 2010) - Announced today, Lufthansa now offers year-round direct Montreal-Munich service beginning October 2010. Demand for year-round access to this important European hub from Montreal has led to the expansion of Lufthansa's previous seasonal (summer) service.
Lufthansa will operate five flights a week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday – in the winter season, and daily flights in the summer. Flight LH 475 will depart Montreal at 8:20 pm arriving in Munich the next day at 9:55 am local time. Flight LH 474 will depart Munich at 3:40 pm with arrival in Montreal at 6:30 pm. The flights will operate with an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with 221 seats (8 in First Class, 48 in Business Class and 165 in Economy Class).
"Lufthansa is the only airline offering nonstop service between Montreal and the Bavarian capital, with convenient connections to 117 onward destinations in 44 countries. This year alone, six new cities were added to the vast Munich network including Bursa/Turkey, Riyadh/Saudi Arabia, Rostock/Germany, Tallinn/Estonia, Taschkent/Uzbekistan and Zadar/Croatia," said Lars Koeplin, newly appointed regional director for Lufthansa in Canada.
The expanded schedule complements the nonstop, year-round Montreal-Frankfurt code share service available via Air Canada, providing travellers in eastern Canada with direct access to two global hubs. Together, they offer Canadian travellers connections to more than 200 destinations in 82 European, Middle East, African and Asian countries.
To kick-off the expanded service, Lufthansa is offering discounted fares to 31 cities in Europe, starting at CAD 250 to Munich (one-way, based on a roundtrip purchase, excluding taxes and fees). The fall Europe promotion is available for sale until October 13, 2010. Check lufthansa.com for details or your nearest travel agent.
