Thanks, I haven't been back to Saskatoon since July 2007 so there are a few new projects/buildings since then.

The south bridge is indeed a huge project that will have a huge impact on the city for years to come, hopefully all positive, but time will tell.

I too would like to see more photo updates in this thread. Unfortunately, our team of volunteers is too small to provide us with regular updates of the same projects...we could pay someone a small fee to snap photos and upload them

Sorry if I came off as a bit of an asshole, but some of us are equally interested in other development subjects besides photos of cranes and concrete.

Thank you gowest for the update, and I echo your thoughts. There are many smaller projects that do not receive a whole lot of press. Overlooking their sprawling disposition, exploring the expanding industrial areas is an impressive experience that is not easily captured with a few photos. One also develops a deeper understanding of why our suburbs are car oriented rather than pedestrian or transit oriented.

Nah, your not an asshole, i've seen a few in my days, your not one.

I would actually love to find someone up there to take and post photos on a regular basis, would be nice.

So anyone have an update or two? The hotel going up on the old cinema site?

They have until November 1st to supply a letter from a financial institution guaranteeing the money is in place and if they don't have that then the deal is dead in the water.

Although don't forget they are "one signature away" as of May.

The night before the deadline is Halloween. Perhaps if we all gather at River Landing and do some kind of incantation, the project will rise from the dead?

Saskatoon Photos

The Star Phoenix on-line has a great series of Saskatoon taken from a plane by Greg Pender. Shows many new construction projects from a different angle. Well done Greg.

The JB Black Estates project will be back to a regular construction schedule shortly, if it hasn't already.

I noticed some fresh framing up on my way past today.

Any explanation for the long halt?

That is awesome news! I quite enjoy seeing these projects get underway. Now if only we could hear a development of an overpass at Boychuck and #16 the corridor would be essentially free of grade crossings, other then a few on west circle and, of course, the nightmare at Ave C!

Avenue C is nothing compared to 42nd Street, or have you forgotten about that mess?

Thanks for the link, Country! Those always save time. As for the J.B.'s: Nice finishing touches! Things have come a long way in ten years. Double vanities! You couldn't even get those - and still don't in some houses!- out in Stonebridge!!!! Too bad pricers believe, 'The skies the limit!'. They (prices) will soon tumble. Don't buy now, anywhere in Canada, that's my advice, as a constant viewer and prospective buyer from afar. (And of course, if nobody buys, then prices fall. If only us buyers could band together and hold out...).

Lake _lacid should have started a year ago. I heard pre-sales were high. Anyways, if you've got a great product, you don't worry about the expiry date, because units take care of themselves. Prove me wrong, but it seems here that you've got an old-fashioned snake-oil salesman selling a product that actually works! And he can't handle it! Bummer for Toontown, but what about that other name attached? Is this his style?.... Maybe he's embarrassed that he was taken in by Mr. Calgary, 1946?...

Sorry guys. Back to you.
