The Air North website says it flies nonstop on Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun at 15:35. I didn't see the flights as they are not on travel websites like expedia.ca or kayak.com (it only shows flights from YYC or YVR on AC or CMA).

Air North also recently increased its seats from YYC and YEG to Whitehorse by introducing a larger 737-400 on the flights up from a 737-200.

There are direct flights and the checkin is by the FA CN counters

With Air north,First air and Canadian North all serving YEG one would think it would logical to attempt to secure some of the European charters heading north.Example with the draw to Whitehorse by Germans and now the Swiss one would think it could be benefical to attract say Condor and offer Edmonton and onward connections to Whitehorse via Air North.But with Whitehorse having a runway able to handle the 767-300 and A330-200 that seems unlikely considering they seem to have tagged Anchorage onto these flights.Too bad seems YEG is missing out on some potential European tourism...

EDMONTON — Federal Express Canada president David Binks doesn’t need statistics on jobs, housing or retail sales to tell him Edmonton’s economy is taking off — he looks at the growing number of parcels his Edmonton couriers are delivering.

“We’ve had to upgrade our facilities and we’ve upgraded our airlift coming into Edmonton a number of times over the past few years.”

The global logistics and transportation company introduced a direct flight from the United States to serve the Edmonton market specifically two years ago. Since then, it’s had to upsize the aircraft from a Boeing 727 operating four times a week to a larger 757. Two weeks ago, the route grew again to five aircraft from four.

With the Chinese market opening I think there is the potential for charters. I feel the Euro travel will probably start to slow but there is also the potential for eastern Europe, "Come see the last great frontier."

Charles Allard how now sent a letter to city council pleading for democracy. The rules are there to ensure that everything is fair. Democracy only works when we all play by the same rules. Envsion Edmonton - you blew it. This was your second and hopefully last chance and it is now time to gracefully move on...

If indeed it is, then I think it would go down as one of the finest moment in Edmonton municipal politics...a progressive step forward and an end to wasting time and energy and money on a non-viable option.

I just saw this on the EIA website. I noticed the changing of the following wording:

"When the expansion is completed in late 2012, it will improve the overall passenger experience by being able to accommodate new gates (potentially boosting the number to 30, from the current 17)"

So now they are saying "potentially" boosting the number to 30. So what is the updated plan now? only adding a more prudent 9-10 gates instead of 13?? In my opinion, as stated before, an additional 13 all at once seemed way too many.

^Not sure, but I assume there is flexibility to add gates as demand warrants. They may start out with less and add more.

All it means is there are provisions for additional gates to be installed as needed, modern jetways are much too expensive and require way too much ongoing maintenance to be installed without a present need.

EDMONTON — Edmontonians will have more flights at the Edmonton International Airport this winter, partly because 2.5 per cent fewer residents are driving to Calgary to catch a plane, airport officials said Monday.

Airlines will offer 21 per cent more flights — 1,300 more seats a week between November and April — than last winter. WestJet, Sunwing and Continental Airlines have all added extra flights this winter.

How many people drive from Calgary to Edmonton to catch a flight? I'd be interested to know the net difference between the two airports.
