I like how the Calgary Tower looks like a child who is too short, up on their toes trying to peek over something high in front of them.

Traynors Rendering of the Yorkville Skyline

The tall towers are the Four Seasons which is Under Construction about 22 floors up right now, and of course the other tall Tower is One Bloor.

Hey Cal, stop reposting that crap render everywhere! It's bad enough I saw it in the Future Skyline thread, at least it belongs in that thread, but why post it again here?

Guy, it's not a crap render. Of course, urbandreamer should get a new camera, but other than that its fine and it's also a skyline.

Here as per Traynor's request, is the Yorkville Skyline as it appears now.. before those monster skyscrapers get added into the scene......

However you can still see the first 21 storeys of the Four Seasons Hotel and Residence popping up on the left hand side, along with the Dutchie..

Laval... It may lack the height, but many midrises are U/C.

The borough of Anjou (or is it Saint-Léonard?)

Downtown and some lovely McMansions

I asked this in a photo thread but I've heard from some people that the Tower was built so that they can remove the top and extend the height if need be. No idea if it's true though.

The tower was not constructed with this in mind, however, an engineering study in the 80s concluded that the tower could indeed bear the additional load to include greater height and a second smaller pod above. The idea never progressed beyond the study and I doubt it ever will.

That particular photo makes Calgary look quite small. The downtown does'nt really cover much area at all!

le Calmar: awesome shots. Esp. the mcmansions and downtown shot. I was just in that mcmansion area two weeks ago...someone on my wife's side of the family has a monster mcmansion right in that neighborhood, just out of view on the right hand side of your shot.

Halifax must have the best skyline in Canada for a metro<500K. Hell, it beats some of the cities above that size, in my books.
