well had it not been for the hold up in May or June(i forget when it was) due to the concrete core we'd probably be seeing glass going up now though now the PA has set it for 3rd quarter of 2010.

We're in the 4th quarter. 3rd quarter ended well over a month ago.

Ohh, I understand. Thanks, but hopefully construction of 1WTC will be done by 2013 as they've said. The base will be the first part of the building to get glass, right?

no the base will start cladding sometime in the middle of 2011,bases are usually cladded after the initial office space so floors 20-108 will be cladded first.

No.

1st Q= January, Feb, March

2nd Q= April, May, June

3rd Q= July, August, Sept.

4th Q= Oct, Nov, Dec.

So we're in the 3rd quarter. After my knowledge they wanted to start with cladding by the 3rd quarter of 2010.

What quarter system are you using? The US fiscal year begins October 1st. The 3rd Quarter is April 1st through June 30th. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiscal_year#United_States

though this is a construction timeline that runs on different logistics,its created by the PA.

The system he is using is the most common system used. The calendar year. Most companies and construction schedules are set to the calendar system. The US Government is on a fiscal year as you mentioned which has nothing to do with the construction of the towers at World Trade Center as their schedule is dictated by the calendar year.

I guess I'm just used to things being scheduled by fiscal year. (And for those who might think I'm crazy: no, the fiscal year isn't just used for accounting purposes...)

I live opposite WTC on the Jersey side, and travel through the site daily. I'm loving this site, it really is interesting to see such a vibrant group of interested people contribute to the story of this magnificent building.

You know what I'd love to see at the tip of that spire? That skyward-reaching spotlight that was in the old renderings. If the very tip of the spire was made of glass or crystal and cut like a gem, it would make it twinkle at night. Wouldn't that be something? I can dream at least, right?
