So what is the deal with the Mark?

Is it 140 meters or 123 meters as suggested on the Vancouver diagrams? There is a debate going on at the #11 to 30 thread in the Canadian section.

And is it indeed beginning construction, or is the plan just to dig the hole currently?

The 140m was approved, not sure if the new units were released for sale though.

So if they are indeed selling units as high as a 47th floor than the Vancouver diagram section is wrong listing it as 41 floors and 123 meters.

Are you sure about that osirisboy?

Is this project still just "Proposed"? From reading everything on this thread I get the impression that it's approved and that some excavation has started. Shouldn't the thread title be changed then, or am I missing something?

It was my understanding that excavation does not count as under construction. They need to pour some cement...

you're both likely right.

a few floors are probably missing - 4,13, etc.

41 stories, but the top floor is labelled 47

It's kind of puzzling that they don't skip the 40's as well, and just have the top floor as 57

Yeah, I thought of that today actually, haha! I hate when they market it as such, simply a lie.

Still, there must be some current elevation available for us to see so we can settle this new height debate. Everyone on the Canada section believes that it is 123 m due to renderings posted on the Vancouver diagram.

It's more than just renderings. It's a zoning report from less than a year ago. Emporis also lists it as 41 storeys, 123 metres although it's unclear if the local editors are still privy to insider access. The renderings are 41 storeys. The floorplans on the www.themarkvancouver cover 41 floors eventhough they are numbered up to 47.

Normally I wouldn't question Jlousa's data but, in this case, I think he's off base until I see something tangible that supports his claim.

I'm going to admit being wrong because I'm stubborn and I'm right on a technicality.

The building was revised for additional height and is approved with 41 floors up from the original proposal. The final height of the building is also 140m.
Now the catch... The building starts at an elevation of 17m, so the height above ground level is in fact 123m and that is what the building should be listed as. And just to prove I'm not making this all up I've got proof.

So in fact the building is 123 metres tall, not 140 metres? I am standing well-above sea level right now, but I am pretty sure I am still 5 foot 10 inches.

Based on the elevations, the 123.4m mark doesn't include the full height of the 7.0m curtain wall projection. The curtain wall extends about 2.1m beyond the roof of the mechanical penthouse, so the total height should be about 125.5m (412ft).
