Look, G.S. obviously has a big chip on his shoulder with regard to Calgary for reasons unknown. He's not a good ambassador for his city. Responding to his immature comments just encourages him and perpetuates the argument. ^ no it started with 'Calgarian' commenting on the UFO photoshop saying "lol, the end of Montreal" obviously alluding to the alien invasion. Somehow you took that comment personally and say: "yeah its the end... Calgary is taking over "

He was not somehow implying that Montreal's political, cultural and economic influence was over, nor that Calgary or any other city was "taking over". You're just so insecure somehow you interpretted it that way.

LOL oh get over it!! it wasn't to piss anyone off....many of you do say Calgary is going to surpass MTL in many ways.....when i read stuff like that it makes me laugh..thats all....but it wasn't to start an argument. well perhaps in 500 hundred years we'll build 2 perhaps 3 200m towers right? there are towers being built here every year....yeah they aren't 60 floors tall, maybe 25 28 even 30 floors....regardless, these 100m 110m towers make an impact believe it or not...I have been to many cities in Canada, Nothing beats Montreal at street level....not even Toronto!.... My man, that was a complement. I was just wondering what a future Montreal could look like, if the amazing density and vibrancy in the core area spreads out more on the island as population increases. What would a Montreal in a 100 million population Canada look like?

I've been to Montreal many times (I have family there in St. Leonard) and I love it, I wish Calgary could get to that level in many spots around our core and inner-city.

In all seriousness, Montreal is a treasure. A great, historic, dense, unique Canadian city. Americans love it as well because it's the Paris of North America (since many will never make it to France in their lives).

i live in Toronto for personal reasons but If I could leave and live in Montreal i would. Im not a big fan of toronto at all! but its ok...I obviously prefer mtl....for now im here.

Immature or not, it is still interresting to compare those two cities, if only because Montreal is the ultimate Old Canadian Metropolis, while Calgary is obvioulsy the ultimate New Canadian Metropolis. It doesn't happened that often that we talk about those two cities to compare them. I find it entertaining and revealing (about everyone's perception of each city).
