Skyline comparisons aside, Calgary's endless ocean of single family homes can't compete with this, thats for sure. And thats just one borough!
Calgary's not just single family homes, it does have some nice medium density urban neighbourhoods surrounding the core, of course they don't extend as far out as much older eastern north american cities.
Though I don't think that it would fit in since it is rather wide... Montreal's buildings are thinner and it would stick out in a bad way. It looks great in Calgary, though.
Really? Place Ville-Marie is quite a chunkster. somewhat similar dimensions to the Bow. I think the Bow would fit nicely in Montreal's skyline. Besides, didn't you guys know that girls like girth?
Wooster: Somehow you allways know how to take the high ground! Comparrisons to city's that are so much different culturally, economy, age... they both have shortfalls and on flip side have things that the one city has that other wishes they had! Each city large or small has it's own identity!!

I didn't ask for such a learned cultured architectural critique and if the Bow is so bad then why say anything in this thread about it because of course all you sound like to the rest of Canada is jealous that maybe it is Calgary's time to shine and what's wrong with that?

The size of a city doesn't automatically determine how good the city is. I know plenty of people in say Victoria who think it's the best even better yet, lots of people in Banff, or Nelson BC....which are way way smaller than Calgary or Montreal, still easily prefer to live there over Calgary or MTL. Bottom line is everyone has a preference, and if someone thinks the place they live at is the best, then it is indeed the best.

Look, G.S. obviously has a big chip on his shoulder with regard to Calgary for reasons unknown. He's not a good ambassador for his city. Responding to his immature comments just encourages him and perpetuates the argument. He wants to get a rise out of us, I suggest we ignore him and focus on the excellent photography in this thread instead.
Montreal may have the dense neighbourhoods, but it lacks the multiple skylines in the metro area... Except Longueuil and Nun's island (and maybe Rivière-des-Prairies) but they don't come close to Mississauga or North Van (or Burnaby or whatever, I forgot that other skyline in metro Vancouver)
But who cares about subburban skyline, really? I would never brag about that. In fact, I think its one of Montreal's merit to be have its skyline concentrated downtown.
