Centre Sportif de Gatineau [850 Bd de la Gappe] | ?m | ?f | Completed

Finally after years with no progression, Gatineau will finally have a large sports complex in the city which should be ready for the Quebec Games in 2010.

Right now, lots of trucks are on site doing the ground work and I think I've started to see some excavation underway.

A partial view of the rendering is at this article
http://www.radio-canada.ca/regions/ottawa/2007/11/21/001-centre-sportif-gatineau_n.shtml

Meanwhile as Acajack mentionned on another thread, and based what I've saw this week, work was done at the Square de la Cite basically just across from the site. This project was also very slow on getting started such as the stage. Since the bus passed quickly in the area, I only saw the stage.

I am surprised there are no updates on this, as I have driven by lately and it is progressing rather nicely. Harls, you should drive by one day to snap a few pics for us

Yeah, I do have a camera, but am somewhat retarded technologically and wouldn't know how to upload them onto here!

My photos of this construction site taken last Sunday have been posted by Harls (who very nicely pitched in because of my technological limitations) at this page on the Gatineau forum:

Note that the current status of this project should be topped-out and/or interior work. I forgot about asking the change.

for real? hilarious.

Glad to see it finally open.. maybe that will make the pool in Aylmer less crowded. Right now there are a lot of people from Hull and the old city of Gatineau that make the trip all the way out here for swimming lessons, family swim, etc.

Free if you have the Accès Gatineau Card, but $8/session to use the pool for those without, I think.
