It needs to be 92,000 and at least big enough for 8-10 thousand seats. Mayor Strange will be at my job tomorrow, hopefully I'll get a chance to ask him directly.

Hey here's an idea: they can solve the problem of revamping Cramton Bowl, building an indoor sports facility, and the quagmire of renovating Garrett Coliseum all at the same time by putting a roof (A-frame or dome) over the renovated Cramton Bowl; at less cost than building/rebuilding all three. If done right, it would look pretty nice.

The city has never been good about preserving the right things. We've lost alot of great buildings, and then go and encase the yawn inducing masonic temple/courthouse in a 'jewelry box'.

I have noticed that they are cladding the north side of the building now.

I heard yesterday that the Lowders have been approached by Walgreens about their lot on the corner of Boultier and E. Fairview. No deal on the table or anything, but an ominous sign nonetheless.

As I understand it, the development plan produced by the OC charrette some years ago has yet to be adopted by the city council and their would be no design review or other obstacle to development of that lot.

If my source is correct, the developer already owns the land and has been drawing up plans for development. I believe the zoning calls for the building to be built to the sidewalk edge so it won't be your typical suburban lot configuration though.

I hear in the rumor mill that the entire block from Sinclair's to El Rey is in danger of redevelopment by the money-hungry children of an aging absentee property owner. Stay tuned.

Now I haven't heard that. The only thing I knew of was the Walgreen's on the opposite corner. Interesting...need throw that against the wall and see if it sticks.

Your information is about as close to the truth as has been reported here. Rumors are swirling and mobilization has begun. This area is outside of the ARB approval area. A number of us within the leadership of the neighborhood are keeping a close watch to see how things develop. Stay tuned indeed!

True. Ken Groves has it on the WAY BACK burner and we will do our part to push it forward. The same goes for a master plan developed many years ago too for the Garden District. There is not a lot to protect us, as the court of public opinion can only go so far... But, a hornet's nest was really rattled the other day when these rumors started spreading. The Lowder's phones were not the only ones buzzing off the hook in opposition!
