Looks like they bought 4 or 5 of these steel mats they use to walk the cranes on... Maybe a sign of tower crane installation this weekend?
Those are probably going to be used as the ramp to move the crane off of the platform so that it can be disassembled and removed. Remember the ramp was removed after the crane was originally moved onto the platform.
If that's the case, then I say they pop on about a thousand more sections to the Manitowoc 18000 and let it keep erecting the tower.
The ramps are good reason that they would be disassembling the Manitowoc. They are longer since the boom is longer, so if that's the case, then so long Big Red! We couldn't have erected 1WTC without you!
Not sure if someone already posted this but I just noticed Jay-Z included a rendering of One World Trade Centre in his new music video "Empire State of Mind"

But as far as i know i did not see any post's mentioning that.

"People choose to be here because they want to be close to it. They want to feel it, they want to celebrate. They want to remember," she said, standing by an open-air patio overlooking the site. "We have a very accessible view on it."
The hotel, which began taking reservations last month, offers some rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows that open directly onto the construction. Guests and members will have access to the restaurant patio with views of giant cranes, jackhammers and metal scaffolding.
It seems to be the first area hotel to use its proximity to the site as a marketing strategy. The carefully chosen name telegraphs the hotel's location to prospective guests. And visitors to the hotel Web site are greeted by construction photographs and memorial images.
In this photo taken March 3, 2010, One World Trade Center is under construction in New York, in a view taken from the World Center Hotel. With rooms boasting views directly out on the construction, the hotel's proximity to the site of the Sept. 11 attacks is being used as a marketing tool.
“Office buildings are our factories – whether for tech, creative or traditional industries we must continue to grow our modern factories to create new jobs,” said United States Senator Chuck Schumer.
