Are you talking about the U/C model of 1WTC? It should be there by default when you go to Manhattan in Google Earth. As for a completed WTC set, they have one somewhere on the internet available for download.

It doesn't really make sense for a tenant to do it themselves, as elevators stop at a certain point, which if a raised floor would be added, would be too low. (among other reasons why a tenant wouldn't add one after the fact)

I'm assuming what you are saying is that 1WTC doesn't have a raised flooring system.

Elevators stop wherever they want them to stop. I'm sure they have different sensors or switches than they did in my day, but I doubt it's rocket science to adjust the stop point.

It's not just adjusting a stop point, the tenant would also have to physically alter the elevator doors (raise them up a foot). Could be done, but it would be a big hassle after the fact.

The elevator lobby would not have a raised floor. There would be steps/ramp into the actual tenant space where the floor is raised. Every telecom CoLo that I've worked at is set up like that.

Its getting deconstructed actually. The old Deutsche Bank Building, still standing but never used again since 9/11.

No one bite my head off here, but i have thought this for some time....to me One World Trade Centre seems small. By that i mean floorplate size. I am only comparing it to the buildings around it - the World Financial Center Towers, 7 World Trade Center etc...there is no denying that it will be tall and apparently fairly skinny, it will definitely soar. I just remember pictures of the Twins before and thinking that they are not only tall but massive buildings. Maybe the pictures just don't do it's size (width) justice, but it is just my observation.

i swear to god, i was thinking the same thing. It looks so small compared to even just the WTC site. I guess in person it will be grand and all.

1WTC is about the same size as the original twins, approx. 200' x 200'.

It is funny because just taken from the photos, I envisioned it smaller as well. That is until I went and saw it in person, photos just do not do this tower justice, the scope of the steel and just the sheer amount of steel is mind-boggling.

It almost makes me sad that all of that steelwork will one day be covered.

I posted this one a few days ago, but maybe just to help with the size I blew this up a little bit, notice the worker in the middle compared to the two beams.
