If anyone want to see the new street light features on Cambie check out the Torch Relay site in about 15 mins. The torch right now is just past Main and 12th where it will head to City Hall then head south through Cambie Village to King Ed.

Wow there are A LOT of people there right now. Look at the cam, there have to be thousands of people, 10 rows deep on each side.

Yes it cuts out a lot. Probably due to the number of people viewing it. Awesome idea though...

The flame visits SFU:

all photos by me, hosted by flickr

Waiting for the torch, not the bus!

Cheering for the bus

The torch is here!

Hardly room for the torch to get through the crowds...

and a blurry final shot as it leaves as quick as it came

The torch relay "live" feed/map is delayed by 20-30 mins...it passed where I planned to see it by the time I was almost there (when I was supposed to be 30 mins early)
A bunch of other people gathered where it was supposed to go at said time, and were wondering why it was "late." Way to piss of a bunch of people Vanoc/CTV...

hey, give em a break, the torch has covered a lot of ground today! i'm surprised they can maintain a schedule at all. fyi, it was 20 minutes late at SFU, so the fact that they are early now is pretty impressive

Those lights on Cambie are crazy...in a good way. It's like Back to the Future meets 50s sci-fi movie.

My Firefox crashed and it's impossible to get back to the stream so if you want to watch don't close your browser. There's way too many people on it.

i'm watching it on the ctv site... they have a map on the right which is nice, but is there any way to tell who is carrying it? lists of carriers or something, especially because there are some big name people today and tomorrow...
