I know this has been posted before, but for everyone stuck at work during the prime time torch runs, they are all streaming live:

Christy Clarke on CKNW right now, is having an open line on Why is Arnie carrying Canada's Olympic flame. Lots of pros and cons.

Two good points that she made: a) Arnie has been linked to performance-enhancing drugs in his past, so is he really a good example to be carrying the flame?
b) If we are just picking famous "good" people, why not Brad Pitt, why not Oprah, and why not Nelson Mandela? (she says)

Interesting debate.

I go for the PR angle.. get the California and US media talking about the games.

CKNW just said Betty Fox is suspiciously "missing" from the list of runners, but I thought it was mentioned she was running in Coquitlam.

I expect Arnold is running in his capacity as Governor, rather than as a "famous" person.

I just took a break from work to watch the torch go through my hood in Lynn Valley. Great turnout considering it is the middle of the day on a weekday. I'd definately say there were more people out lining the street then there is for our community parade that's held on a weekend in the summer.

Yeah, after Ikea it heads up to SFU, then down through central Burnaby near Burnaby Lake park and Deer Lake Park. Then after that it passes through Most of Vancouver and up to UBC and then down Broadway before ending the night at Yaletown Livesite. Thursday seems like a very ambitious day for the flame.

I was highly impressed following the torch relay through Ladner and Richmond yesterday on the web, and then going out to see it. The convoy was completely punctual across the entire route. They have some very good trip planners.

I was quite impressed by its punctuallity too.

Here's a PDF of the times that it should be at various locations around North Van today...

http://www2.canada.com/northshorenews/pdf/NorthShoreTorchRelayMap11.pdf

If you're watching it live then you can see they have it almost down to the minute.

And by my work around Canada Way & Willingdon at about 11:00am! Hooray for the torch coming through the middle of nowhere!
