Regina for a long time was a city that did nothing, and got nothing. It's unfortunate that there are so many "smart people" who are okay with that.

It's about time Regina started being a leader and doing more than just the bare minimum. Hence why the GTH and the stadium are such refreshing projects.
I disagree. It's the same myth that you have to spend money to make money.

Sure, sometimes. Maybe spending $400,000 on new lighting will save $200,000 per year in electricity. That is easy to grasp.

But sometimes spending is just blowing money on frivolities and ego enhancement.

Considering the specious "logic" that 10 new residents = $40,000 per resident in clear profit to the city, it certainly opens up big questions about the financial sense of this expenditure.

Let me ask... if he had spent $4 million on the new logo, would people be thinking it's even 10 times smarter? How about $40 million, is that 100 times smarter?

Sorry but spending money for the sake of spending money isn't a compelling business case. In fact if I'm an employer looking at relocating to Regina, I probably see evidence of wasteful spending as a red flag that I as a business owner am going to be over taxed to fund more vanity projects.
