For those wondering what was going on at Robson Square yesterday

1988 Olympic Rivals Katrina Witt and Elizabeth Manley did a figure skating bit.

And a tamer Lady Gaga wannabe sang.

Today, the Royal Hudson Steam Train is heading from Downtown to White Rock, then tomorrow it heads back to Pacific Central after the Torch Celebrations in White Rock.

Leaves downtown at 2pm, arrives at 4pm today, then Leaves tomorrow at noon, arriving downtown at 2pm.

Even if you can't make it out to White Rock, it's quite the sight to see it steam through Vancouver.

I've been seeing some very dodgy Olympic Vanoc cars on the road driving like maniacs in groups cutting people off and stuff. Some of them have full tint on front windows, which is completely illegal.
One of them nearly hit me while I was waiting to turn left in a left turn lane...the guy was about to do the same from the opposite direction but was going ~70 in a 50 zone and slid way towards me before finally being able to turn at the last second.

I haven't seen anything that wild, but I did notice several drivers who seemed unaware of the concept of pedestrian crossings yesterday, especially when it came to them making turns on red. Guess some visitors (probably from parts of the US) aren't used to foot traffic. Perhaps it's a good thing they are designating pedestrian areas during the Games .

I haven't seen many foreign plates at all...only thing I saw today was a Saskatchewan plate on a truck.
But yeah could be the volunteers joyriding. No clue why there are tinted ones...they also had the windshield tinted so you couldn't see inside at all. They must have zero visibility at night.

Was thinking the exact same thing. Its amazing how just a few lighting effects on the buildings and streets of downtown makes the whole area come alive. Hopefully the city will learn that having little more lighting in Vancouver is nothing to be afraid of, but rather should not only be embraced, and EXPANDED on.

Yeah they might have been. Explains why they were in groups of 3. However, they had no police lights on them or anything, which means they are bound by the same rules as every other driver on the road. Definitely going to make sure they don't cut me off next time...

Be careful. If you somehow make contact, it'll automatically be your fault lol
