Suggestion: rename Expo's Granville Station to Granville-City Centre Station and the Canada Line's VCC Station to West Georgia-City Centre Station.

- South Granville (that's what the immediate vicinity is called)
- Arbutus (or Kitsilano)
- MacDonald
- Alma
- West Point Grey (I prefer it to be designated as a future station)
- Wesbrook-University (to reflect the current "Production Way-University" station on the M-Line)
*(Or "University of BC" and then change the current "Production Way-University" simply to "Simon Fraser University")

I like that!! Much better than the current name configuration, except just drop the "West" to become "Georgia-City Centre". That should make the current Granville and VCC more like legitimate interchange stations.

Perhaps, but Main Street and Kingsway are important arteries where many will transfer to the buses. I think it's important that the station be named after the streets.

Good point, i like that name better.

Preferably Arbutus.

It would be a huge mistake to not build a station at Sasamat right from the start. There's a lot of ridership potential there, you could get at least 5,000 daily riders from that stop.

I think it's a bit different from the SFU station. Production Way-University Station is down the mountain, it's not at SFU so it would be misleading to include SFU in the station name. But with the UBC stations, you're actually at the heart of UBC...I think it would be a huge missed opportunity to not include "UBC" in the name. And I'm quite sure UBC would want "UBC" included in the station name especially if they're going to be paying for part of the station construction costs.

Yeah, I don't see what' so bad about Commercial-Broadway. The main destination is Commercial Drive, after all.

I also don't see why Vancouver City Centre is so bad. It is Vancouver's City centre, isn't it? With the possibility of a connection to Robson Square, it really is the heart of the system, more than Granville station, if you ask me.

Stadium-Chinatown for sure. And some of the downtown station perhaps. Richmond-Brighouse might see some but I'm not sure.

I'm just surprised ProTransBC did it so early.

And there will be transparent, portable, and temporary trash cans throughout the network.

I doubt Stadium will have that. They don't have it for Lions/Canucks games, even when they are on the same night.

This isn't a Lions game we are talking about. TransLink will be temporarily removing the bike lockers, anticipating crowds at Stadium, which makes sense since two major venues along with LiveCity and other celebration sites within the area.

I remember the fear that station would be named that, followed by major sighs of relief that it got the boring VCC name instead. Fortunately, he's remembered better for the Not-Quite-So-Fast Ferries, and getting his cottage deck fixed, so I'm happy to leave that as his legacy.

Perhaps that's how to get the new M-Line built to UBC: Include a "Gordon Campbell Station" somewhere between Blanca and Sasamat near UBC.

i've noticed the last few weeks there are no newpaper boxes at stations - at least lougheed has none they used to have at least 10 or so now none removed for the games i assume?

Anything that can hide a bomb in public areas has been quietly removed during the pre-Olympic cleanup.

Has anyone else noticed the see-through plastic garbage cans (with the see-through plastic garbage bags) that are showing up around downtown?
