I am sure they are not done with the Austonian lighting yet. Honestly it looks great from the east and from the west but looking at it from the south head on you can't really tell there is any lighting on the crown at all. Im hoping they light both the north and south sides of the crown as well and Im pretty sure that is what the finished product will be.

Green walls. They are really beautiful on buildings. A vertical answer to green space. We don't have many good examples yet. First one that comes to mind is the one over the escalators in Whole Foods downtown.

I tried to get some night shots late Monday night of Austonian & FSR's crowns and the skyline from a few quick stops. I was in a hurry and it was late & cold so most of them didn't turn out that great, but here's a few of the better ones.

From I-35 near Riverside

From Joe's Crab Shack

Four Seasons Residences from the Congress Avenue Bridge

From the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge

The last two, I tried to zoom in a little on Austonian but they came out kind of grainy.

I saw just the top of the crown lit on Saturday night, but now on Monday, it looks like they've lit that first horizontal stripe just beneath it. I wonder if all three are going to be lit?

Here's one more quick shot of the Monarch. Note a few Christmas-decorated balconies.

Cheers to Lone Star Mike, for helping out the holiday travelers!!

As Jdawgboy stated earlier, I can see how the current lighting on the Austonian is not very visable from the north and south vantage point. It obviously appears to be a work in progress.

The lighting on the FSR also appears to be a work in progress also.

Its all looking good and i can't wait to get back home to see it in person!!

Thx again LSM!

Nice, Kevin. I was out last night too. I haven't had time to finish, but here's one from near the Zilker Clubhouse - artsified.

^Very nice. The Monarch sure does look wide there. I love the look of the skyline. Great colors and reflections, and I'm really liking all the different lighting designs now.

And now I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a shot of the UT skyline last night. I would have liked to see what 21 Rio looked like. It was just starting to get foggy then, so I actually had trouble seeing most of the skyline. 360 wasn't even showing up. The only thing I could see was Chase, Frost and The Austonian. The W looks like it'll block most of the One American Center there.

Also, I'm wondering if they'll raise the cranes for the W this weekend. The western crane is getting very close to the top. If the building really is going to be 476 feet tall as they've said, then it should be about level with the top of the tallest crane now.

Thanks. I've had my neighbor's car while she's out of town and she was delayed one more day getting home because of the snow in Nebraska. Yesterday was so pretty I just had to get out.

Another one from last night.

I took a lot yesterday and last night. Hopefully I can work on them tomorrow while the black-eyed peas are cooking.

And remember - Southern tradition says black-eyed peas on New Year's Day will bring you good luck; cornbread ensures you will have plenty of gold; and cabbage means you'll have lots of folding money throughout the year.

Between the peas and the cabbage, though, you might want to get some Beano.

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year's.

^Great pic. I'm loving all the interior lights sporadically lighting up the skyline.

Take a look at this. "Wow"

Another one. 360 is a really cool building.

Is 7 Rio completed already? I don't recognize that artsy building from when I was last in downtown.

And is that "Capitol Tower" structure (which I'm pretty sure they haven't done yet, correct?) just for decoration or a larger radio transmitter or what? And if I'm not mistaken, that's being added onto the Latin Works building, right?

Those are cool early morning shots of the 360. Very interesting effect there with the fog.

Sure wish 100 Congress and the San Jacinto Center would turn on their night lighting. I think the last time I saw 100 Congress lit up, was during this past SXSW. Can't remember the last time on San Jacinto.

From Barton Creek Square Mall:

From the Zilker Clubhouse Trail. (Not from the clubhouse itself. It was being set up for a party.)

From the TMI Castle:
