I saw the Austonian crown lit up tonight also. It was very bright, and the entire angled plane of the top was lit, at least on the west side. I'd imagine that the floors below it (amenity floors) will also be lit in some way.

But it was seriously bright. Almost looked like the moon.

Once again, great pics. The Federal Courthouse's stated height was 8 floors and 135 feet. In your photo from the Frost Bank Tower showing it, the courthouse will be about as tall as that tan building at the bottom and middle of your pic.

And in your 2nd to last photo, that's the Silicon Labs Building. It was built at the beginning of this decade. Yeah, I really like that they left the old building. That place is busy at night. Sometimes they set up a seating area outside on the sidewalk.

I saw the new lighting on Austonian last night while riding north on S. Lamar. It was very bright, and looked great. I can not wait to see the finished product, as I am now sure the lighting is going to be top-notch.

I'm pretty sure those lights I was seeing at the end of my street from the end of my driveway through the trees was the crane for The Austonian. Tonight I couldn't see the lights, and with it being Christmas I doubt they're working tonight. Plus the air was clear as a bell tonight so I know fog didn't play a role in blocking the view. It wasn't any spectacular view, but it is amazing nonetheless that I could see a structure in downtown from my driveway. As soon as they remove the crane the view will go away. Also with the dense oak trees, I doubt any new taller building would make a difference either.

These renderings look really good!

This is from west of the hotel looking back towards the east:

This is the opposite side, at 5th and Colorado.

Looks nice. Street Level sucks. Redo that and I'll be happy.

It also looks like it's right out of Mirror's Edge for anyone that has played it.

I really like the aesthetics of Mirror's Edge so no complaints from me. Here is a screenshot for those that haven't played it/don't know what the hell we are talking about. The entire city is extremely white and somewhat brutalist with splashes of very vivid primary colors here and there.
