The salon thats going into the Birks Building has a website now

http://getchromed.com/the_beauty_lounge.html

I heard a comerical on 104.9 saying its 3 floors and Edmonton's largest beauty salon. I didnt think that space had 3 floors? Wasn't Front Page only 1 floor plus a loft?

to all i would simply wish a merry christmas, chanukkah, rohatsu, ramadan (and eid ul fitr and eid ul adha), kwanzaa, yule, winter (or summer for those on the other side of the equator) solstice...

regardless of whatever celebration you partake in this time of year, I would like to offer my own best wishes for the season to everyone here, whether ''regulars'', ''lurkers'', or just the occasional guest.

may you all enjoy health and happiness above all with your family and friends - as everything else comes from that and nothing else has value without it - both for the season and throughout 2010.

I'd also like to send out my wishes for a joyous New Year, and also I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas with friends, family, or whoever else is close with you.

Thanks for all the information about stuff going around the city and whatnot, it's great to read, hope to see more in 2010!!

Happy Holidays to all Edmontonians and Edmonton-forum readers from other places.

Thier office in Scotia looked pretty empty when I walked through there on the 23rd. It is interesting to note some presentation boards of what appear to be buildings were visible from the sidewalk along Jasper.

Maybe I should put this in the decomposition thread, but looks like the building at 100th and Jasper is falling down (or at least, part of the facade is falling off):

EDMONTON — A pair of 90-kg marble tiles have come loose, high on the side of a downtown building, forcing emergency crews to close the sidewalk and part of the road underneath fearing the pieces may fall.

@Jasper and one o nin ... I agree, one must be the wife, and the other is a spinster sister in law...lot's more funny/disturbing shots like this at awkwardfamilyphotos.com

@ Rogie...isn't this where that upscale restobar is supposed to be opening in afew weeks? I wonder if some renovations have knocked things loose. I hope it's all right, I quite like the building in a retro sort of way.

This isn't the first time these marble tiles have fallen off of the old TD Bank Building. I think it's time for Dub to do some preventative maintenance.
