That's the thing that people laughed at when it arrived packed in bubble wrap.

Looks much better now. This should be posted in that Bienniale thread. This installation + the other recent public art is part of that, is it not?

Cool - hadn't seen the add-ons to those warehouse buildings from the back before.

Pics by me today of the Royal Bank Tower wraps:

Note that both the windows and the spandrels are being wrapped.
The wrap will say "We're Proud To Support Team Canada" - which is what it says on the banking hall wrap.

It looks like it got scratched in transit or setup and needs to have some warranty repairs done.

Or have the skatepunks already 'marked their territory'?

Also - friend at work here siad that TD Tower will get a wrap on the west side facing the Art Gallery from the 10th floor to the 25th floor - just the one side.
It'll be an advertising type wrap - not an offical Olympic theme wrap

The producers of the Sculpture Biennale sure would like to have at least some of them permanent. Their website is http://www.vancouverbiennale.com and there's a thread on here about it somewhere too.

An advertising wrap? Wouldn't that fly in the face of the Olympic Bylaw preventing "ambush" advertising (I'm not exactly sure what constitutes ambush advertising, but, I'm thinking this large-scale in-your-face approach might qualify)

It would be an official sponsor's advertising wrap - i.e. like The Bay is wrapped by HBC and VISA banners and the Royal Bank Tower is wrapped by RBC, Post Office by Cheerios. Bteween The Bay and the Royal Bank Tower, the Royal Bank one looks a lot more "corporate" than "Games".

I'd rather see wraps that match the "look and feel" of the Games - i.e. the blue and green swooping curves, etc.

i wonder if it's Samsung?
"It [Samsung] is negotiating to wrap a downtown Vancouver building with Samsung Olympic signage, has big plans to showcase its brand on outdoor advertising throughout the region and will build a pavilion at David Lam Park it expects will attract more than 600,000 visitors as part of Vancouver’s LiveCity Yaletown celebration site.

The two-storey, 7,500-square-foot pavilion — to be called Olympic Rendezvous at Samsung [OR@S] — will showcase Samsung technology, provide live entertainment and offer lounge space for athletes and their families...

Cool.

The fact that the TD Tower will have a wrap is a good sign that non-official sponsors' buildings (i.e. bearing teant logos who are not official sponsor) will be allowed to have wraps (as opposed to banning them on the basis of a non-permitted "association" with the Games).
