Ok, how did you go up on that ugly slab on guy street (I assume its that one). Is the access in the building easy? Is the roof access easy? Thanks.

There is a terrasse on the top, so the access is easy. But if you want this 360 view you have to go up the ladder and then climb some stuff, and then it's city all around you otherwise you can't see in every direction.

For me though, I love cloudy days here, especially when it's really mild and not raining and the sky has a bit more texture than just a usual Vancouver overcast gray day. Although I drove up high into West Van to take some far away shots of the downtown core but I was surrounded by cloud, and left with no picture...hrm

actually, for its size and relative to other Canadian cities it does not have a ton of highrises.

not that it matters really for i abso-freaking-love the urban fabric/variety of montreal's buildings be it in age/height/design or patio incorporation.

- The red crane is for the Fine Arts Museum expansion.
- There is a white crane for a 15-storey hotel
- Louis-Bohème's crane is barely visible

If you include adjacent highrise areas (like downtown Westmount and Quartier Latin), then downtown is quite big.

...Of course Montreal has tons of highrises, but 95+% of them built before 1992... (before Shanghai's entire Lujiazui CBD I think?)

These are postcards that I sent east from around the late 70s. The top one's by Jim Babchuk, the bottom one by Ian Monserrat.

I would guess that the bottom dates from about 1974 as the TD building is there but not much else newer.

Vancouver (DT) is running out of room. Looks that way... I know Montreal has a lot of highrises, just very spread out.
