I would love to see a few more of this style pop up around the edge of the CBD. I love the Metro condos and having a few more like that ranging from 6-12 stories would add some great density to downtown.

That's just a rendering to show what the new Performing Arts Center couple with housing and other stuff would look like. The rendering isn't for a specific location. I thought it might have been along regent street, but it's not. Just read the info under the rendering.

I like the design of this project, unfortunately, it has stalled. From what I hear, it could be years before they start back up again.

Pretty sure it is the same architecture firm that did the metro. I know they were working on the North Salt Lake project some time ago.

The more and more you look at SLC's skyline, there really is not one buidling that stands out anymore, and I like it. Tower 1 has helped blend in the Church Office Building, 222 Main has the Wells Fargo Center so the 'blue' building does not stand out anymore, and it has helped blend in with Chase and American Towers, and The Regent will help give a slope to the skyline to fill in the gap from Key Bank to Chase building.

I was wondering the same thing, about the slow pace that is. Oh well, I guess it's such a beautiful project I can be patient with it. I'm anxious to see that classic style at that location.

Yes, I was noticing that a few days ago. I looked at an old photo of Salt Lake the other day and it really stunned me. Tower 1 has made a huge difference, it makes the whole skyline more flexible and balanced. I think it was the perfect spot for a tower that size.

Agreed John, I remember a couple of forumers in the past pointing out that we shouldn't worry so much about a reclad of the COB. That it wouldn't be long before additional towers would soften the way the COB itermingled with the rest of the CBD. They were right, just the addition of Tower 1 has made a tremendous difference.

Before the issues surrounding inequality got out of hand, and required us to make an irrelevant thread, I was trying to make a simple point that perception and opportunities for development go hand in hand. Mayor Ralph Becker made the same point while speaking about his proposed anti-bias laws (Ordinances would bar discrimination against gays in housing and workplace):
