if ya don't mind asking... what is IIRC?

thanks

TGIF!

I head about L tower luncheon on UT.... the official plan is still unclear for me... all I know is that they ditched the podium... L Tower is real quite these past few months... or should I say lower case "l"

**PS: I read on the wikipedia article for First Canadian Place and since the white marble tiles were getting dirty... Instead of cleaning each piece, workers deliberately dirtied the tiles so that it would match the dirty ones.... First Canadian Place FAIL!

thanks for the update Cal

Glad to see L tower finally come alive...

Still gonna be a long while before we see any "real" action in terms on it going UP...

Sad that Canada doesn't have any "super-talls" either built or under construction... Canada FAILS!

but it's understandable considering our quite and small nature

CN Tower doesn't count!

Well, at least we have the CN Tower, and the Inco Smokestack, and for those who don't care if antennas count, FCP. All 3 are over 1000 feet high. But in the reality department, no supertalls.

Going back to the ten tallest u/c thingy, just imagine in the next couple of years when all the current ten tallest u/c's are complete.... What's gonna be next in terms of a high-rise proposals... It's always a mystery on what we might see next....

RBC is off the list, but here's a pic posted by Elkhanan1 at SSC, showing the LED lighting...

For those unfamiliar with the L Tower:

Who cares. Height isn't everything. Go to Houston, Atlanta or Dubai to see what I mean.

I agree height isn't everything, it doesn't equate to success. Canada's doing quite well considering the size of our economy and population. Just because we don't have any 1000 footer's does not mean Canada = epic fail, or something along those lines.
Would it be nice to have one? Damn right it would be, but I can live without it.
In any case I don't think I'll have to live without one here because I believe its going to happen eventually.
We just need to be patient.

Centinnial Place & Jamison Place aren't that far off from being finished. (can't wait to see the 2 buildings with cheater-spires get knocked off the list. And yes Trump has a spire too but it would still be #1 on the list even without it)

Absolute world would be next in line to claim a spot on the glorious top 10 list then no? Can't wait til Aura appears on the list too.

WOW!... great shots guys of L tower, RBC, etc...

Me personally, I don't mind L tower without that huge podium (that was scrapped)... The podium looked kinda cheesy to me and unrealistic... Plus, from certain angles the "L" would appear backwards and "L" also stands for "loser" he he he!

But "l" tower will have quite a big impact on the skyline!....

In this pic "l" tower looks FAT!... but it's ok...

Here's a nice photo of Shangri-la by Jasonzed at SSC:

Are those levels parking?... because there are ramps forming plus curved areas that look like a parking garage....hmmm.... gonna suck to have to drive down so many levels to park...

I'm hopeful some new starts will replace these and MLS before they are completed.

Let's keep it above 174m

That was my point.

And no i'm not really a big fan of spires.

Someone else can answer this better than me, but from what I have been gathering is it is going through some slight design changes, that will be increasing the height from 183m to somewhere near the 188 to 190m mark.

Chances are this will be approved, but construction will have to wait until after the Olympics.

When this occurs Vancouver will be bak on the top 10 u/c I am guessing.
