Rogers and Telus customers will be fortunate enough to have full reception in the Canada Line tunnels as both systems are set up there. Bell, on the other hand, might not have great reception, but should be fine. Fido customers shouldn't have to worry as the signal should automatically connect onto the Rogers network.

Anyways, I went to the open house today, and I noticed that we aren't alone in moaning about the short trains/platforms and the orientation of the exits. I overheard a lot of the attendants answering questions about it.

lol, i knew that would happen. It certainly is a massive mistake.
And I overheard a kid, looking at the tunnel ahead from the front train window, screaming "IT'S LIKE A ROLLER COASTER!" It really is like a roller coaster, on both ends of the station.
I did not go to open house today. Looking at some pic in Flickr, I found this one uploaded by DieselJimmie, a sign board showing both "no entry" along with "To trains". This sign does seem confusing? (unless some divider/gate would be put in)
When I went down the stairs from the mezzanine to the platform level, the way you can feel the breeze from the tunnels and the design of the platforms reminds me of HK MTR stations very much, esp the ones on the Tsuen Wan Line. The mezzanine is absolutely HUGE, and the platforms are actually quite spacious.
One of the attendants there told me the Skytrain C-Line will be opening sometime between Aug 17th and Aug 31st.
I made it down for a quick look - the Vancouver Centre entrance has much more prominence than the Pacific Centre one
when i was there some people came out of the tunnel - they were all officials or whatever and as they opened the gate an announcement came over the speakers saying there was a breach and that they were being recorded on CCTV and stuff like that - quite loud
also seemed to be a lot of bewildered people on the sidewalk outside the station noticing it was open and venturing in
they didn't seem to point out that you could go to the trains - some people never went passed the displays - unfortunate

Me and a bunch of my friends visited the station just after a bike ride around the Stanley Park seawall and before a quick dinner at H-Mart and a dash to the beach for the fireworks. Then rain arrived followed by the longest and most intense thunderstorms I've ever seen in Vancouver, so I was forced to leave at 0930h, very drenched. Man, but the lightning was sure fun to watch (I watched it from a friend's apartment right beside Burrard Bridge)!!!

Well what really InTransitBC should've had instead of "No Entry" is "Keep Right." The no entry is really just so that people won't be walking on that side of the mezzanine.
Got some of mine coming soon....by the way, all downtown stations + Olympic Village are built with a 50-m platform. (because of the centre island platforms)

^ not because of centre island platforms but because the platforms are deep undeground, making it difficult and more expensive to extend in the future.
Just a wild guess, I think the Grand Opening will be held on Saturday August 22nd, 2009.
I was reading the Upcoming Events in Canada Line's "All The Stops" newsletter and noticed 2 events will be happening on that date:
- Femsport 2009 Street Party at Yaletown Park
- Richmond City Centre Children's Festival
It would be nice if I can ride the train to go to these events.

Just repeating what the person told me. I do see that there is space to extend the platforms to 60-m. By the way, the station wasn't that deep after all...you could see the lights coming down. (still uploading the pic )

Centre platforms have nothing to do with the capability to extend a platform. It's the depth of the platforms....Yaletown Station was originally going to be a 40-metre platform, but at the last minute about 2 years ago they made a decision to make it a 50-metre platform as the station was deep and would be more expensive and logistically challening to extend later on.
There's not enough space for 60-metres, as that "free" space you're speaking of is for power rooms, utilities, maintenance space, and the expensive tunnel fans.
