There used to be a tea shop there. And A Loooong time ago there was a sporting good store in that section.

There has been a stock pile of fill dirt behind the building for the last month.

Just got back from a day trip to McMurray, Still busy up there.

from greenspace at c2e

"On good news front, everyone's favourite bistro, Bistro Praha, has secured space in Icon II and they plan to digitally replicate the mural in the original space exactly...it will be like walking into the old location!"

Awesome news... more critical mass for 104st and more opportunity to do MORE with RHW.

In other news also from greenspace it seems as though the developer of the Icon somehow had the provision removed to replace those beautiful BLVD trees they cut down.

WTF

104th Street really needs to start developing north of 102 now I think. I hope they do something with Revillon ... would be nice for a big bookstore or clothing store, or a bunch of small shops.

Land-use plan gets OK

EDMONTON JOURNALJUNE 12, 2009

Municipal Affairs Minister Ray Danyluk has given the Capital Region Board until Dec. 31 to fine-tune a regional land-use plan the group submitted to the province in March.

Otherwise, Danyluk accepted the document on Thursday.

"It's a good plan, a complete document, and a solid foundation to be built on," Danyluk told the mayors, reeves, and councillors who sit on the board.

Some areas that still need to be pinned down include:

-A cost-sharing model for the municipal share of an intermunicipal transit plan, and;

-Identifying priority growth areas.

The capital region board met more than 80 times in the past year to develop a co-ordinated regional plan for land use, housing, public transit, and a geographic information system.

might as well son... might.

Way to rollover. There were conditions precedent to replace those trees with trees of the same or similar caliper once the project was complete in exchange for putting their staging area on the sidewalk.

There is NO WAY that should have been removed. I would like this to be confirmed prior to my , but it sounds right up Langham's alley considering the other stunts they have pulled of late.

Perhaps but that WAS A CONDITION OF THEIR DP that the developer replace them.

Rumour has the price around $45,000 per tree times what maybe 6-7 trees?

I wish the Standard Life building would get its podium changed. It has always bothered me, but it has REALLY been on my nerves for the better part of a year now.

You couldn't pick a better style of building to absolutely kill any life on that block on Jasper and 104 Street.

Not sure on the type, but they are the same that can be found on the rest of 104st.
