I just read that Denver has been rated as the United States #1 most likely city for a real estate recovery. Denver seems to really be making it's national presence known; and a fast economic recovery ahead of the curve should only solidify this. I'm not sure where the City of Denver will end up going with this, but it seems as though Denver is making a strong statement and taking a clear leap over other cities of simular size. It's definitely now creating it's own path, leading the way for others cities to follow.

Indeed wow! You captured it all very well. Denver is indeed in my opinion, my favorite and most interesting "Mountain West" settlement.

Thanks everyone for all the kind comments. I have a ton more photos and I left out several neighborhoods because the thread was getting a little unruly already. I'll be posting a thread of my favorite area - Capital Hill soon.

Great thread. I have been infatuated with Denver lately, so now I get a good taste. Great street activity and density. You are so lucky to have the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop. I would live there if I could!

It's good to see my photos have returned from bandwidth prison. I'm using Photobucket and it seems as if I used too much bandwidth last month. Does anyone know how to get around this issue without going pro? I believe your only allowed one account per email address?

I have a question for those living in denver. I´ve been there one time and loved every aspect of it, but i have heard some people complaining about people being rude over there. I don´t recall any unpleasant experience... Is that true?

Hi Betterthannothing,

About Denverites being "rude", let me make a comment.

I moved to this fair city in '99 and I have loved living here ever since. The "native" Coloradans, for the most part, are pleasant, courteous, kind, friendly and considerate. It's the transplants, esp. of the "yuppie" type who are "rude", and especially if you're from certain states which shall remain nameless. :-) I know this is just a personal opinion based on experience, so please, readers, don't take this post seriously. Unfortunately one of the things that an up-and-coming vibrant city will bring are other things like snobs, yuppies, and shallow, provincial people out of touch with the world around them. Fortunately, most of those people stay away from the 'dangerous' inner-city and live in places like Highlands Ranch and Cherry Hills.

j/k. Hey, there are nice people and rude people everywhere. Fortunately in Denver, I run into the former much more frequently than the latter.

These photos are fantastic!

I was just in Denver for the first time last week. I must say, I was SHOCKED by how nice it was. I spent days wandering all over - particularly the Five Points area and the neighborhoods east of Downtown.

I found it to be one of the most livable cities I've ever seen in the US.

Beautiful shots, if only all of Denver was as walkable and car-free. Hopefully in 10 years or less with the new rail lines and increasing density Denver will be added to the still small number of American cities where one can live comfortably without a car.
