The "new body" gym in the Pinnacle is having a soft opening or something tonight. All the paper is down from the windows, and it's basically just a big open space that looks out onto Jasper and 121st.

It's weird though, because they seem to have 1 weight machine, and 1 set of free weights, and 1 treadmill. I don't know if more equipment is coming? Or if they're really going to focus on classes and trainers?

Anyway. It's nice to have that space filled (since the Rexall and Doctor moved out...two years ago? Three?). And it's nice to have a new amenity in the area (even though a lot of the buildings around there already have half-assed gyms). It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

Rode my new bike (09' stumpjumper) around tonight... man is our city beautiful.

I have to admit, I really really like the TNP 'uptown estates' tower. It is very well done but what i cannot comprehend is why they would put an RTU on the roof completely in view*

*the city should have been all over that.

^ I agree, Uptown has turned out to be a great project. It would have been over the top if there were 3 or 4 townhouses fronting the street.

I agree with the RTU, in fact, there are a number of new towers where the roof top mechanical are just 'out there'. I blame that on the designers.

It's actually a cooling tower but yes, they could have concealed it better

Your Specialized is wasted bombing around the city streets my friend. Take that bad boy down into the valley & hit up some of the fun trails before the brush grows in

As long as you're not directly north or directly south of the skyline, all angles are pretty good. Our photogenic "postcard" angle is from the SE.

I'm assuming you got that at Revolution? How much are those bikes going for these days? I have to upgrade my Norco in the next couple weeks...

ok then theres a random roadtrip that might or might not happen planning somthing to do for myself rather not go to that damed mall MOA was enuff for me

Cool. It's always fun to see an outsider's perspective of Edmonton. I've really enjoyed the Winnipeg photography you've shared on this site, so it would be cool to see what kind of things you notice in Edmonton's urban fabric that a local might overlook.

yup... but its rider needs some um 'conditioning'

United. THey have a few 08's for killer deals <$1500, mine was a little over that.

I'll second that! Right by McNally high school there are some great viewpoints and when the east end of Jasper starts getting developed, it'll be even fuller.

Plus there are some killer bike trails right around there, some steep hills!

@KevinFoster... you posted pics of your backyard patio you reno'd awhile ago. Still have them online? I'm thinking of laying a flagstone patio next weekend here in Waterloo. Post them or PM me if you care to share them...
