interesting...

curious to see the 'backlash' from the icon retail once they know/understand that new trees have to go back up directly in front of their signs.

if those trees do not go back, heads will roll

I'm not sure what has changed. The homelessness is still really prevalent. It just so happens that tent city hasn't been allowed to form.

Okay

The point was that it was to show our booming times through "Tent City" and our lack of housing making people live in tents and what not. The picture was to show the whirlwind of change that has occured.

Of course there is homelessness in the area still, but they aren't employed people living in tents waiting for a house to be built because there is a shortage of housing sort of thing.

There will always and ALWAYS be a shortage of 'affordable' housing in some shape or form.

Looks like the ATA tower addition is going full steam, they've got the 142st side of the building fenced off and there are tower crane bits laying in the parking lot

There is also fencing and demo crews at Westmount, on the east side. And the New Firewall 5 has started on 112th ave.

There is still tons of people that are working homeless in this city. The situation hasn't changed much. Just walk through some of the central river valley and look into the wooded areas.

Speaking of homeless, if anyone has noticed over the winter, exiting off the Whitemud onto 91 St. heading west, if you look to your right into the trees that line the hill there is a rather elaborate homeless den, if you will, literally dug into the side of the hill. I know that city crews have basically left this place alone over the cold months, but not sure if it will be torn down now that it is beginning to get warm again. If anyone has a chance to check it out, its quite amazing what this guy has done. I dont have pics, but its pretty impressive.

Sorry if this question has already been answered but what exactly is their vision for Jasper Ave? Are they wanting to add more retail and restaurants? Are they looking at adding condos and bussiness towers downtown? I guess I'm just curious as to what the city envisions for Jasper Ave.

I just got hundreds of A&W flyers filled with cupons in the mail. Apparently A&W is sending these out to people associated with car clubs.
