Does anyone know if there is a fee to be paid to the real estate agent when you list a rental on MLS?

We went to the models today and they're both sold so they will be relocating them to one of the higher floors, I believe there are 7 units left which they can utilize. Apparently they recently sold quite a few units in Phase 2. One of the Charlesfort people mentioned that they have people moved in up to the 14th floor.

Also, there was a written notice posted in the elevator stating that the condo corp. was registered on April 3 or 8 (can't remember which).

The pictures of the unit remind me of something I have been wondering about. Why is it, do you suppose, that all the new open concept condos with their rather small kitchens, still include big 30 inch ranges rather than smaller Euro-style built ins.? I can't imagine that the downtown condo dwellers spend a lot of time baking cakes and roasting turkeys - seems like weak design and a waste of space to me. Views?

I disagree! I live in such an apartment. A small fridge I deal with (I'm not a whole family), less counter space I deal with, one sink and no dishwasher I deal with, but man the small oven —! It's hard to get the right cookware in there sometimes.

LOL, Just kidding...your pics are always awesome...
it's not too hard, most of the projects are pretty close together..it's surprising how much ground you can cover in an hour downtown. Maybe I should let my wife read this so she stops bugging me about exercising.

In case some of you were wondering what I meant by a "Rubberhead", that's one of the knicknames we have for people that work for CSIS, or in Comms Research/Intelligence in the CF...

I know of at least 17. I thought that was a lot, but I guess not.

Really? What did you type in Google to come up with that result?

That was several weeks ago. Some of those ads have disappeared now, the units rented out, I suppose.

Thank you O-Town and Harls for new updates, great photos

HP1 was at this point last year on June 23rd, so should we expect moving into HP2 to start in November (HP1 started in January-I did the math), and that was before the fire which postponed moving to the higher floors

I asked HP personnel about the length of the delay, and they said it was 5 weeks and that the first people should be moving in Oct. 09. We'll see.

I agree that the photography is nice, but the subject isn't. Density is one thing, but cramming too many high-rises tightly together like we see here in Ottawa is simply poor planning. Honestly, who wants to be living in one of these units when you have another building only a few feet from your windows? (Not me, anyway.)

Personally, I much prefer the Vancouver model. There, builders can build tall, sleek, elegant buildings but they're also required to have a certain amount of green space around the building. This has created neighbourhoods of modern condo towers in downtown Vancouver, and every unit owner has a reasonable amount of space between them and their neighbours. The result is quite effective in my opinion. (And you can often stand back at street level and admire the architecture of the different buildings - something almost impossible in Ottawa.)

I totally agree. That density may be OK for the office buildings, but not for condos, even though some people don't mind having a "brick wall view"

First pic really shows difference of height between north and south of gloucester street. HP should look good when finished in this view.
