I don't know why, but i have a feeling if they do create a unified branding it will occur when all the turnstyles are put into place, just a back of the head feeling.

Pick something and build a brand.
Does the DLR in London (which is P3) have the same unity with the rest of the London Underground (besides the fact that they have different colours)?

lansdowne will serve kwantlen university - its at the east end of the lansdowne mall parking lot basically

and the street to the south is full of old condo towers and new ones plus all the ones just to the west that are going up or up already

as for the frosted elevators i think its because they face the oncoming traffic - you notice aberdeen isn;t frosted and it doesn't face the traffic the same way

maybe to cut down on reflections for drivers?

You know... that could be right.

Lansdowne will be redeveloped in the future... I'm glad it will be.

The floors were VERY slippery... I'm not sure if it's my converse shoes... or it's because it's new... I just hope they would be less slippery especially when it rains.

The handle bars, like Mr. X said, were ugly. I wish they were dull as well... and all yellow. I also wish they weren't that shade of yellow... TransLink uses a darker more warm tone of yellow.

my friend said "sensing a law suit" as he slide his foot on the floor - very slippery - you can practically glide along the floor

there was so much empty space inside too - i guess people can stack their luggage there

pretty nice inside overall

the poles with 4 bars were good - my friend said "about time" no more hanging onto the roof

I don't like the bars either. They should have left it in its original metal colour.
That bright yellow looks bad and akward with the whole colour scheme and your attention goes to it once you get in the car. I guess that's the effect they want....to make you have the temptation to hold it

Yes. It is identified using the same London Transport roundel, but the bar is light blue (underground is red and overground is orange). It uses the same fonts and way-finding.

All transport in London operated by Transport for London (or contracted to) is identified by the London Transport roundel, except National Rail, which use the National Rail symbol, regardless of the operator.

Overground Roundel

DLR Station - note use of the Roundel - also note the station colour matches the line colour on the Underground map.

I think the underused Lansdowne mall parking lot will become the unofficial park and ride for people living all over Richmond and not want to pay at Bridgeport. Just wait to see it function like the parking lot at Lougheed Mall station.

Anyhow, I think the next open houses will either be Bridgeport or YVR.
I don't think they can have one at YVR there is nowhere to park unless they operate a shuttle service

Quite possible. I know that on all the recent CTrain stations in Calgary they've designed the lunchrooms to have a window overlooking part of the station as it can provide another set of eyes on things.

Whoops looks like they forgot to put that one way security mirror film. For security's sake should we delete the photos from this thread? I vote yes. Actually Transit Police doesn't want anyone taking photos of anything related to their security systems.

Better delete those pictures showing the wide-open access to the "fare paid zone" and those obvious camera hanging from 30,000 feet up.

Normally the Designated Waiting Area is the area that is in the best view of the video cameras - for safety reasons. It makes sense that a location at the middle of the platform is in sight of both cameras (assuming there is a camera at each end of the platform). i.e Toronto, I think the DWAs also have extra lighting.

From the Canada Line website - Jim's pics of his ride on the train. Note he left Bridgeport to Waterfront, reversed @ Waterfront to Richmond-Brighouse, then to Bridgeport, then to YVR and back to Bridgeport:
