Those people are dignitaries who probably don't even live in the lower mainland.

As heard on the video, it looks like the Expo Line extension will use 104th Avenue, 152nd Street, and Fraser Highway. They mentioned something about tunneling.
Can anyone please put this video on Youtube? I don't know if that link will exist for any extended period of time. Thanks a lot!!

The funny thing is for me on skytrain i love looking out the window, even though i have seen it 1000 times it is always a great view. But if those are taken i have no problem sitting facing people, n fact i usually start a conversation when i do.

it was such an awkward scene in general, such nervous posturing to falsely appeal to the "everyday" person. reminded me that being a politician is such a sketchy venture.

Ah ha ha that video is hilarious. In particular, the camera zoom onto Campbell's face at around 4:30 mark had me chuckling. His face looked so emotionless like a true politician.

Interesting how they said Seattle starting their rapid transit line at the same time as us but yet it's way behind schedule

Have you been to Seattle lately? They're making good progress. I saw a test train running along the line, what a sight!

I thought I read that the first phase of LINK is ready to go for a June inaugration. The airport link is about six to eight months behind that if I'm not mistaken.

More importantly, they are already gearing up for the line's extension to the University of Washington.

Nope - mainly because Vancouver Island is not visible from Richmond anyway. You can see Gliano and Valdes islands across the Strait.

Yes it is. See mountains to the west of Richmond? That's Vancouver Island.

Then you will hate me... But in all honesty you can tell if a person is interested in conversation or not before you even start talking to them. Out of towners are the best, because then i can boast about my city and tell them a bunch of spots that are off the beaten tourist path.

Facing seats like on the West Coast Express? I don't mind them and there few groups of coworkers/friends who commute together who love them.

I think that's the key, and what thankfully separates you from the crazy talkers who drive other commuters crazy.

I wondered about that as well. What's wrong with the media in Vancouver? How come no one was taking the mickey out of him? They could have just asked him what the deal was with the leather jacket..
