It was me, but only because it reminds me of my own province's great looking flag.

That Lethbridge flag looks like an American flag as it would be shown on an old Atari video game console.

Like Quebec City and Regina, Winnipeg's is also blue and canary yellow.

I like NB. It's a bad ass flag, on the other end of the spectrum is PEI. BC's is plain cool, AB's is way boring , NL's is modern along with NU. I have a soft spot for boring ON, b/c it's my home, but it is way too similar to MB. NS and QC are in the same vein, representative to predecessors who settled the province.

Here is the Labrador flag:

The AB flag looks kick-ass hanging over my bedroom window at my dad's (in BC).

I chose NS, PEI & BC.

The Nova Scotia flag is very effective in displaying the roots of the province and I think it also conveys strength and power with the shield superimposed on the cross of St. Andrew.

The PEI flag seems surprisingly unpopular on this thread. I chose it partly because that is where I am originally from but I have also always found it to be an attractive flag as well. Perhaps most Canadians don't understand the symbolism of the flag. It is one large oak tree shading three smaller trees. This stands for Mother England protecting the three counties of PEI (Prince, Queens and King's counties). The provincial motto is parva sub ingenti, meaning "the small under the protection of the great".

I find the BC flag attractive and powerful.

I currently live in NB and I must admit that I am floored by the popularity of our provincial flag in this poll. While it is an attractive flag, I am not sure what the symbolism of the flag has to do with our province. The main symbol on the flag is a sailing ship, but if you look carefully at the ship, it is a galley! What's up with that! I'm sure there has never been a galley either built in or sailed upon NB waters. It just seems kind of random.

Same here. And not only that, New Brunswick is the one Atlantic province that's least dependent on the sea.

The North American Vexillological Society conducted a poll in 2001 and their results closely match ours, although some of the state flags are awful. They have many, 'state seal on blue background' flags that all tend to look the same. Not sure about their first choice, New Mexico. It looks like an insurance company flag to me

I like Maryland's. I'm surprised Kansas wasn't on the bottom of the list.

Georgia's is probably at the bottom because of the design up to 2001, which incorporated the Stars and Bars. They took it out in 2001, probably after the poll was done.

Maryland's is busy, but not too bad. Not as bad as some of the others.

Nunavut has the best flag in Canada (aside from the Maple Leaf, of course).
