Haven't you been asking the same question over and over again... and then you tell us that "yes that's TransLink's plans"

I might be wrong, but I'm quite confident the LCD screens don't have this ability. First of all, there are only two, two sided displays for each station... which includes the ones with these installed in Watefront, Stadium, and Gateway. So that's two screens per direction. But the problem is, I don't think the displays are linked up with the SkyTrain system itself... but only through TransLink (as means for providing service updates and messages), Lexmar, and Global TV. And the TVs themselves... there is barely any space for TransLink to even type a message. We aren't sure if TransLink is going to install TVs for every station.

Either way, I still think TransLink should display their Buzzer Updates and Escatalor/Elevator info on the TVs instead of the LED displays. Then you could use the LED displays for next skytrain information and everything is all good.

Only 180 m! Well, that is a start... I hope #3 road is fully resurfaced soon with new lane markings, right now it is horrible.

Well, the reconstruction of No. 3 road is still in process. I believe it's not fully done yet. They still have a ways to go. No. 3 road, in my mind will be transformed in the next few years. There will be a lot of redevelopment in and around the area, if all goes well.

I wonder if the hotel near the constructed Westin Hotel will be demolished and a redeveloped?

^ If nothing else the North Arm Bridge needs to have decorative lighting. It is the only bridge with no lighting all the other bridges have white spot lights on them at night. I think some colored lighting would look really sharp on that bridge. I am quite surprised that there is no lighting on it right now considering all the marine traffic and proximity to Canada's second largest airport.

driving down no 3 rd on sunday night was a nightmare - horrible

Late last year I e -mailed Translink and asked about the LCD & the said they would be used to give passamger info. If they end up not using them for that than bigger & brighter LED s should be installed .
The LCd Screens will be installed in all 33 Stations by Spring/Summer this year.

I noticed that there are wood slats installed on the underside of the Vancouver City Centre Station canopy and on the ceiling of the station entry above the escalators.

Passenger Information does not equate to Next Train Information. They do display passenger information right now...

I could not agree with you more! I was always curious and wondering when the lighting on the North Arm Bridge would be put on, but even until now, the base of the bridge is lighted, but nothing on the actual bridge. I'm curious, but does anyone know whether there are plans for the bridge to have lighting on it. Was it part of the original design? I would be disappointed, though, if there was nothing done. A bridge that close to the airport, something should be put on there. Decorative lighting would be nice, a nice greeting to those coming into the city too!

LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is like your computer screen
LED (Light-Emitting Diode) is like the bus destination sign and the next stop display

led's are simple and use very small amounts of electricity. they can be wired in series to say one thing all the time or they can be wired so each one can be turned on and off individually for customized display's

Whats ugly about a side 3rd rail? its the norm...99% of metros around the world have it on the side...
