if this has been asked, i apologize for being redundant, but going back through 19 pages worth of posts just isn't on my to do list at 1:00am.

will the vehicles on the Canada Line be run on the other two existing lines and vise versa?

No. Because the width of the MkI/II and Rotem trains are different, with different riding heights.

Another significant difference is that the power rai; is apearantly along one side of the guidewy not down the middle. The Canada Line does not use The Linear Induction Motor.

Gordon, Skytrain's power rail is also to the side of the guideway. The rail down the middle for Skytrain is part of the LIM system and is not electrified.

The City owns the whole block.
The new building is supposed to provide a public friendly interface for City Hall - clerks' counters for permits, property taxes, etc.
I think the East Wing of City Hall (added in the 60s or 70s(?) could be demolished. The City also owns the former VanCity building across Cambie and may still lease a lot of space in City Square.
Apparently a tower can be built in the NE corner of the block without breaching a view cone.

Getting close... How many entrances will Waterfront have (i am guessing 2) and what station has the most entrances?

Vancouver City Centre would be a tie at three: street, Pacific Centre, Vancouver Centre Mall

Vancity, can I ask you not to quote pictures in your posts next time? It just makes scrolling much more difficult... we don't really need to see the same pictures even though it's quite exciting. Thanks.

And I beleive the offical opening is still Nov/09, although Mr. X's reply should be closer to reality.

Well obviously they're going to keep the "official" opening for November, but without a doubt it'll open up earlier to the "surprise" of the masses who have no idea about the project.

Waterfront station is shaping up real good. At the moment, it looks like similar in design to the new MTR station entrances.

I have an inquiry about the Olympic Village station construction. Does anyone know the timeline for the approximate time 4th ave will be fully open to traffic once again? I saw them lowering some trusses that looked like roof supports today.

they aren't building a new one

just a building for city hall offices

the current building is too small and it will remain "the" city hall

many cities have offices in multiple buildings
