Coast Mountain Bus Co.
standing water in all service areas could lead to spot re-routes throughout Metro Vancouver, particularly in Vancouver, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.

Vancouver:
Dunbar Street is extremely icy, especially between 10th and 16th. The #7 is terminating at Highbury.
The #84 will route via Blanca until conditions improve on Chancellor Blvd.
The #100 will omit Trapp Avenue in New Westminster

North Vancouver:
The # 211, #212, #215 and the C15 will re-route via Mount Seymour Parkway to Parkgate Village and turnaround there
The #210 Southbound will run on Underwood, Coleman, Ogden, Lynn Valley and Mountain Highway
The #229 will run only to 15th and Lonsdale then R/15th, L/Grand Blvd to Lynn Valley rd continue regular route and the same in reverse.
The #230 will run only to Lonsdale and 23rd

Coquitlam:
The 152 service routing via Austin omitting Rochester
The 151 service routing via Como Lake to Mariner both directions

Bowen Island Shuttle not operating due to slippery road conditions.


SkyTrain
SkyTrain continues to operate the Millennium and Expo Lines separately while technicians check sensor loops in the Columbia Tunnel. While this work is underway, the Millennium Line will run from VCC-Clark to Sapperton Station only. Millennium Line passengers wishing to transfer to the Expo Line should travel to the Broadway Commercial Station, as connections are not available between Sapperton and Columbia.
Trains from Scott Road to Columbia are being manually operated and are running every 10 minutes.SkyTrain will continue to run longer trains (6 car Mark I’s and 4 car Mark II’s) with SkyTrain Attendants onboard to monitor the guideway

Albion Ferry

Due to ice buildup on the Fraser River the Albion Ferry has been discontinued until further notice.


West Vancouver Transit
The #253 Caulfeild is on a snow route. Buses run along Marine Drive - up 31st to Westmound Exit 7 - along Highway #1 to Exit 4 where passengers are picked up at the shopping Centre - then back along Highway #1 to 15th - down 15th to Mathers - along Mathers to 25th - then down 25th to Marine Drive where it continues eastbound.
The #251 Queens Ave is on a snow route.

Just heard a news story about a train going from New West to 22nd and two or one of the door on a fairly packed train didnt end up closing. The whole trip to 22nd the door(s) were open.

That would be kick ass!

SkyTrain runs between stations with open doors

Passengers on SkyTrain got the ride of their lives Saturday afternoon when they were forced to take the trip with the doors open.

The train was leaving the New Westminster Station, heading towards 22nd Street at 4:45 p.m., when at least three doors failed to close. Passengers had nothing between them, the track and the distant ground below the rail.

Drew Snider of TransLink said technicians repairing cars at the front of train at the time had allowed it to run in manual mode, and had bypassed the alarms that usually notify staff that the doors haven't closed.

He added that TransLink had a platform camera video of a passenger forcing the doors open and then trying to close them again but failing. The train was taken out of service at the 22nd Street Station.

"In that particular spot the train had to be driven because of an electrical problem," said Snider, adding that the staff member driving the train did not see the open doors.

"There's a lot of other questions that need to be answered, so we can't speculate at this time."

Snider called the incident "very, very unusual" and said TransLink was looking into ensuring it never happens again. He told passengers to not try to hold doors open or force them.

In terms of the recent troubles SkyTrain had been experiencing with delays caused by snow and other weather-related problems, Snider said the worst should be over, though there could be problems from melting snow on Monday.

"I think we're out of it. The temperature is warming up, but not as much as we were fearing, which is good. We've taken care of the various weather-related electrical problems that we were experiencing," he said.

I've been on a train when this happened on a MKI car during the morning rush a couple years back...although it was one door only (it was stuck half opened).

Finally a chance to take great pictures from skytrain without the dirty windows in the way and i wasn't there! (has anyone else noticed that the best views of Metro-Vancouver, especially of Metrotown and the Fraser River are all from skytrain in between stations, yet the views always suck at the stations.

We're gonna really miss that with the Canada Line, at least in Vancouver...

I used to love sliding the doors a little bit open while travelling in it - just by leaning on it. It was the best way to get fresh air during the sardine packed times.

Probably scaring to us North Americans, but Mumbai's trains run with the doors open all the time. In the UK when I lived there, the buses had no doors on them, just a hop-on, hop-off platform at the back. And in South America many buses run with the doors open. No big deal really. Just hold on

I got stuck on the Expo line between Broadway and Burrard (trip took an hour) on the 26th, all due to issues with that Columbia switch. When one piece of equipment messes up both lines, that needs to be dealt with permanently.

Just bumped into this pic on Flickr. This is probably news to most of us. Did Translink actually order new Orion VIIs the past year or two besides those suburban coaches (from this pic, looks like most of them are going to Richmond routes)? I've always known Translink only ordered New Flyer and Nova buses not Orions, at least from their news releases. Anyone knows how many they ordered and when will these new Orion VIIs will be in service? Also, is this particular model the full 40ft ones, like those new Nova/New Flyer ones (I can't tell)?

At least the train wasn't sardine quished.
I was on the TTC subway in Toronto one time during rush hour and the door next to me failed to close. It was wide open the whole time and the train was packed.

Ew I saw the Orion low floors out east, they were ugly.
