Not sure what you are saying here:

Are you saying that the bridge on Dugald Rd. (I'm assuming near the "taking-forever-to-finish Perimeter) will be three lanes in total?

Sorry if i wasn't clear.

Yes, the Hwy 15 bridge crossing the floodway will be 3 lanes, 2 west and 1 east (Dugald Rd). there is, in conjunction with this project a Manitoba Highways project to complete the twinning of the Perimeter in the area and improve upon the new intersection (I don't know what kind of intersection they are planning, but it is Manitoba so i can guess it will be lights). The Hwy 44 Bridge replacement will just be an improved 2 lane structure built to the necessary guidelines required by the floodway.

Well, that has to be one of the most moronic plans I have heard yet. Why, when they have to opportunity to do something right the first time and not the umpteenth time, would they build a three lane bridge on a busy highway?

I'm sorry, but that is retartedly gay

...sorry to throw salt on the wound and make it worse, but i heard it will be engineered for four lanes. Tell me that makes sense. How much can one extra lane cost. I would imagine it is because they don't want to do the required improvements to Hwy 15 to accommodate the bottleneck 2 lanes into 4 would create, but come on.....at least build the bridge with the capacity and deactivate the extra lane for the time being.

I've seen the traffic on that bridge; my aunt lives in Dugald and I'm sure she can attest to how backed up it can get. It needs to be built for four lanes; period.

I swear, mentally challenged chimpanzees could make better planning decisions than people who work for the province and the city.

That skywalk is a trip. Reminds me of Futurama where those tubes shot humans around as a manner of public transportation.

The Scottsdale Cone of Silence

There is a place called Scottsdale, Arizona, a place that the Winnipeg media never talk about. Anything that happens to people in Scottsdale is considered to be foreign news by the Winnipeg Free Press, if it can be classified as news at all. True, the everyday things of life happen there. People get married, they have kids, they have affairs, and they have messy divorces. They sue people and people sue them. Sometimes their kids get into trouble with the law, as teenagers do. People start up businesses with the highest of hopes, and sometimes the businesses flourish, and sometimes they die. Scottsdale is like anywhere else. (Only warmer in winter with a better view.)
The strange thing about Scottsdale is that the very same neighbours who own grand homes only houses apart on Tuxedo streets like Park Boulevard also own equally grand homes in Scottsdale only houses apart. An entire social set of Winnipeggers live parallel lives in Scottsdale. Here their speeding tickets, their arrests, their lawsuits, their business deals with real estate syndicates, and their bitter divorce dealings never see the light of day. This is Scottsdale, a sunny place where the sun really never shines at all.
I find it interesting that when I break a story in the morning about seven donut eating Park police being fired a WFP reporter spends all that afternoon chasing down confirming sources, but when I write anything about Scottsdale there is never any response from the WFP. The Mayor of Winnipeg hires an Arizona private detective to get the goods on someone (we wonder who) and somehow the mayor is the one who gets hauled into court by the investigators. Not news. The Mayor’s wife goes into court without any legal counsel against one of the toughest sharks in Arizona and she promptly gets eaten up, as one might expect, but Gordon Sinclair does not try to create any sympathy for Mrs. Katz, aka Barry Barracuda. The Mayor's neighbour, Phil Sheegl gets sued by a mortgage company and that is not news. Phil Sheegl goes into business with the owner and players of the former Winnipeg Jets in Phoenix and that is not news. Nothing that happens in Phoenix is news. And where is our Mayor when the Prime Minister is in town for the ground breaking of one the Mayor's favourite projects? He is on vacation with his family. On vacation at his house in Scottsdale, we presume, not that the WFP would ever tell us.

Hopefully it was a joke... because that rendering is terrible.

The skywalk is incredibly ugly and the trees in the atriums just looks contrived and silly.
