Richards on Richards is obviously closing, but the good news is they should find a new home at the old A&B Sound on Seymour, maybe they can copy Bons off Broadway and become known as Richards off Richards.

WOW whats the ETA on the Richard on Richards moving and renoing, etc? Are they taking the full old A&B space? or just part of it? As it was 2 building combined.

Re Concord....whats up with Cosmo?

Not sure but it sounds like it will be both buildings as the application for the license transfer is for 449 seats.

Cosmo is delayed but will be the next Concord project, should be an update in Spring.

A brand new Joeys Bar & Grill just opened up on the ground level of Bentall I.
That’s 3 new bars within a block of each other in a year.

The Lodin doesn’t have the originally promised bar on top of the Hotel, only a small and somewhat pathetic thing just left of the Lobby.

Of all the projects not to get canceled im surprised this one is going ahead.

The new Ferrari Maserati dealership on Burrard and 1st broke ground last week. Excavation should be quite quick and baring any impedements bulk excavation should only take a few weeks. The superstructure should take about four months after that so look for substantial completion some time in late summer. It should be a pretty impressive building once it is complete as if nothing has changed it will be a 3 storey glass box with Ferraris on every level.

Can';t find the Granville st redesign thread, either I'm blind, or it never existed and I'm going crazy.

Here's a detailed look at the lights.

Not surprised it is going ahead. The luxury car business is still doing fine.

So is the luxury... everything business. I know Brinkhaus is still doing remarkably well selling Rolex, Patek, and etc.

Good news about Richards on Richards. I hope their new venue ends up as good or better than the current one.

And those lights are huge.

the lights are 10 feet in length for all blocks except robson to georgia, where they are 30 feet in length

all of them start at 11 feet above the sidewalk level so they'll be about 21 feet to the top and 41 feet respectively

theres a rendering of the shorter ones on pechet and robb's website

Thanks for the link. Those 30-foot Robson to Georgia lights should be quite the sight.

Perhaps in Vancouver, but not elsewhere. There's an article in this weeks Economist on exactly that issue.

Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver probably doesn't take in to account (very much anyways) the economy of places outside of Vancouver when making decisions on what to do with their dealership in Vancouver . It is surprising how strong it is going, but people I've talked to "blame" it on Vancouver having a lot of wealthy foreigners from all over the World. When you look at cities like that, New York for example, they are doing relatively fine. Compared to the rest of the USA, the property prices and etc in NYC have not gone down, and in some cases gone up. Vancouver has a very interesting demographic that puts it in, perhaps, a stronger position than SOME other Canadian cities.

People here need to stop freaking out The Stampede is usually more dangerous than whatever caused it.

The high end car dealerships cater to a regional market. I know a guy who works at Ferrari dealership and they service a clientele all across Western Canada.

With Oil at under $40/barrel they probably aren't doing too much in Alberta or the Peace Country!
