no way they would do that IMO... and no way would they replace a horse race track with a road course.

If the muni goes without a permanent track i dont think we will see it here still.

A loss. However, I'd rather see a permanent redevelopment that is useful daily, then a track that sits empty 95% of the time.

How about talking about some issues such as the BIG announcement that has been talked about for the last few months and never happened?

Or what happened to the Chinese delegation that visited Edm? What became of that?

Seems like a lot of promises but few real announcements.

How about a hotel update? I haven't been to the airport for a while but I'm guessing there's still no sign of construction starting?

Jeepers. This thing just keeps getting pushed back and pushed back. What's the reason this time?

Great Pics Cold.
If you had just posted these photos and not told me which city this airport was in, I would have guessed Europe (ofcourse the airline names would give it away).
The airport looks real nice with clean lines.
Some likes:
1. That global map that is lit up with all the cities, so cool to see the curvature of the earth.
2. Wow, never realized how much land was next to the airport. Some of those pics of those planes shows miles and miles of undeveloped land. Perfect for our growing airport. We are so set!!
3. Colour scheme and use of metals and concrete.

Some dislikes
1. Ugh that first photo of Welcome to Edmonton. Why do they keep such an old skyline shot?
2. What is with the domestic arrivals area. Change it already and make it better, it is so brutally 1980s. I am sure it was great then, but now when you walk past it to international arrivals you feel like you walked from third world to first.
Just my thoughts. Nice of you to take the shots.

Here is some food for though. Should the redevelopment of the muni airport acutally go through, would there be a possibility for realignment of the roads that surround the airport into more of a grid-type patter rather than remaining one big circle as it currently exists?

Because aside from the TD Tower exterior refit, it hasn't really changed much. Sadly.

Great pics, Cold.

^ That and no Telus logo, I just realized those both after I posted.

Still, not much has changed.

I wish shots from other angles got more exposure, if anything. Photos taken from the north, for example, tend to show off our shinier, glassier towers.

Put it this way, there is plenty of opportunity to realign existing arterials and extending the existing grid given that this would be an infill type of redevelopment.

The new terminal and ramp expansion is fully underway.

I also hate saying ''be patient'' but new announcements are on the way.

Clients like us to be quiet due to market demands.

It would be nice if one of the live cams at YEG focused on the expansion. Can't see anything on the cams that are online now.
