Flair Tower - Aug 19

This sound good.

Quote:
McCaffery hired architect Joseph Antunovich to work up the design. The historic Flair House originated in the late 1800s and gets its name from the Flair Communications Incorporated advertising agency that has called the building home for years. Flair executive Lee Flaherty also happens to have founded the Chicago Marathon. The development plans are designed to compliment the existing structure and sport a traditional brick facade on the lower levels.

This is beautiful; I especially like that you caught the chimney at the Union Park Fieldhouse. The brickwork is great.

Silver Tower 8/29/2008

Sorry for the very crappy camera phone quality (and through my office window to boot). But you can just make out the windows they have started to install on the levels just above the parking garage.

Anyone know if this is the final facade? The windows look surprisingly black for a tower named "silver."

Checked again today, definitely one of the nice (powered ?) blue arms on top of the tower, the yellow one was probably from the garage area.

Taken today (various projects). I wish the framing were better, but it was hand-held.

What a remarkable picture, i_am_hydrogen! I like how 111 South Wacker pops in that shot. I'm so used to seeing it from the ground looking up that this view is a pleasant change.

20 South Wacker

The former CME trading floor podium now sees the light. The first window hole has been opened in the base between 10 South and 30 South. Didn't have my camera with me though.

Are there any renderings out there for this project?

And were Fujikawa Johnson (I think they still exist) hired for this? Not that that would be necessary, but if an artist's work must be altered 25 years later, there is some dignity in allowing the artist to handle the changes, if they are still around.
