How come I was under the assumption that lighting the highway wasn't gonna be done soon b/c of future re-alignment of QEII?? Nonetheless, thats awesome news.

Here's a good question: Which residential tower do you think will be next to break ground ?

1) Aurora "Mira"
2) Valleyview
3) Opus
4) Parkwood
5) Abbey Lane
6) Rossdale Green
7) other ??

Yup, it's been underway for a while, all the underground infrastructure is done on the east side & it looks like standards will be going up next week, & Infrastructure is about 3/4 done on the west side.

It's gonna look really cool flying into Edmonton at night.

^yes because nothing is there really now...not to mention it isnt that short anyways. Mind you i still feel as though that lot should have had a thin point tower to take advantage of views.

From that angle, it looks almost as tall as the CN tower! Maybe cuz its just alot closer.

Finally on board. Been reading you guys for a while now. For what it's worth, about two years ago my wife was hired to run the POS Econolodge on top of Bellamy there. The owners said that her stint would be short lived because they were selling the property to make way for a highrise. They also said that the Lacombe was also going to be building a highrise at the same time. Well, two years later and nothing yet. She is also in tight with the GM at Sutton Place and he has said, albeit, two years ago, that the downtown was getting another 4 star property VERY SOON.

although you have to remember than in richard's business - as in mine - two years can be a very short time. it can sometimes take that long just for a simple rezoning or development permit...

Welcome aboard!

My guess: Mira, Opus, Valleyview

....and to respond to what nunangel posted last page about the Devonian.... Murrey just needs to hand it to a leasing agent and quit being a tight @ss. I can think of several companies that wanted in, but only wanted smaller portions of it. He missed the gov contracts by avoid LEED cert., and he screwed over any chance of an huge lease offer. That's just half the story though, but... here's hoping things change quickly there.
