Is it good or bad that Mexicana may align with Westjet? Code share?? or funnel through...

Mexicana Airlines swoops into Calgary
Flight fuels talk of deal with WestJet
Gina Teel, Calgary Herald

Mexicana Airlines' new Mexico City to Calgary route is off to a good start, with the inaugural flight arriving fully booked -- and its officials already talking code-share possibilities with WestJet Airlines Ltd.

Adolfo Crespo, Mexicana's vice-president customer service and corporate communications, said the airlines are talking.

"As a matter of fact, we are talking to WestJet to see how we can code-share and work together," Crespo said following a media event to mark the launch of the route.

^Knowing the way airlines work in Alberta....
Although WestJet has been pretty good to YEG, so who knows. It's just talk anyway.

It would be more to feed YEG and YYC from cities like YQR,YXE,YWG,YLW etc.

No effect on our flights other than offering more feed to Mexicana.

Port Alberta news to come.

Not much of a secret anymore so I can fill you all in on what is now becoming public knowledge.

-WestJet is expected to announce YEG-EWR once the new Slot times are handed out by the New York port Authority.

-Westie is also expected to add YEG-LAX.

The talks are done in those matters, and well Mr.Hicks left a few teasers...

Wow that author is pretty ignorant about US pre-clearance type stuff. Guess he has never flown to and from Canada.

As for EWR - great news! Slots being freed by the USA airline collapse should bring even more new destinations (hopefully).

Yea, great news for YEG. I am excited about the EWR route. Nice to see that AC will have some LAX competition. I wished that US Airways never dropped the LAX route a few years ago.

AC does not fly to PV from YEG now...routes planes through YYC. What is the point in AC grabbing city pairs if is going to provide one-stop flights and not non-stop. Tuffy...can you cut through the Mexico bilateral Air Transport Agreement 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 of the pairs and tell us which flights are non-stop or do they even have to be. If not then High Level and PV are also pairs...

The stuff about expected new flights to EWR and LAX sounds great!

But it would be even better if they actually did materialize - unlike the rumours regarding FRA and the like.
