Optical illusion - Cambie Street is fairly steep there, so that and the guideway's opposite slope makes it look steep. Electric trains can handle 6% grades (SkyTrain with linear induction motors can handle steeper grades, just look at SkyBridge approaches).

Scaffolding is being erected at the entrance for Vancouver City Centre Station - probably to cover the opening (from rain) that they'll cut from the plaza down to the mall level. Just realized it, but the station house (entrance) is really all retrofitting the mall for the station access and just adding a steel superstructure to the plaza - all the underground space is already there. It should be built really fast (i.e. bolt it together..) once they get the opening cut through.

That is exciting. I believe they also started the glass framing at Templeton Station.

Nice, relatively mullion-free glass - just widely spaced horizontal banding.

Great shot. Nice to see the station entrance coming along =)

Edit: I got a response from "the premier" after my email suggestion regarding the route map of the Canada Line: of having it split into two lines, Canada Line and YVR Line.

Quote:
Thank you for your email containing suggestions for the Canada Line.

Your email has been shared with the Honourable Kevin Falcon, Minister of
Transportation, for his information as well.

Thank you for taking the time to send in your thoughts. Your input is
appreciated.
I think I'll be able to go to the BCYL meet up with Premier Gordon Campbell and hopefully I would be able to bring this issue up.
