Hi guys, I am new to the forum and it is really interesting reading your posts, though there are far too many to read everything

I guess what I wonder the most about is if we are going to start seeing actual Head Offices start moving to Regina to take advantage of lower land prices, lower commute times for their employees, tax breaks if the pols play their cards right, etc, etc. I would love to see some new high rises going up in the downtown, employing hundreds/thousands of people with jobs that pay better than Applebees or Tim Hortons

I've heard rumors of "big things happening" to go with our so called "boom", but lets face it, rumors are rumors.

Feel free to share said rumours....we'll take anything we can get! Welcome to the forum.

I remain very skeptical of any such Head Offices moving here. There's more to the decision than costs, because if that were the case, everyone would be jumping at the chance to move to Thunder Bay. I could see regional offices for a company like Shell setting up in Saskatchewan. Of course our Premier was hyping up big things not too long ago, so who knows.

Was coming home on Sask Drive tonight and noticed some construction taking place on the NW corner of Osler and Sask Dr right across from the STC Depot. Not sure if its just paved parking lot of if something is going up at that location.

And am I the only one who is pissed off at Kenroc Building Supplies for leaving their old location on Sask Drive looking like a disaster area??? Its truly sad that you run a business looking like that and sad that you leave it looking even worse after you leave. 2 HUGE thumbs down to those aholes who don't know how to pick up after themselves.

***edit*** I just sent them a very strongly worded email about how disgraceful it is that they would leave it looking like that. I can just imagine the sh*thole they live in

Also, I would like to state that there should definately be a law for gas stations going out of business to clean the land they sat on, and give up or sell the land afterwards within two months of shutting down. This would clear up many spots in the city for construction. eg, 14 and albert,, 13th and retalleck and some others.

Thanks for the link.

Shame that it'll be a streetscape of garage doors.

It's a development of townhouses and single detached homes. In south Regina. Who said infill has to be creative and unique. Anything other than this design would be completely unexpected.

I'm rather fond of the home model with garages for three cars.

Yes, now it is... and in some of the pics it is... but he was talking about the floorplan. It says "Lease Pending" where Shopper's is, but it has Co-op written in their current spot.

You would be amazed to see their head office. It is amazing. I think it has even won design awards.

Good for you for telling them that you wont stand for leaving behind a mess...although i havent seen it.

Rumor is that a pre-fab shop might set up in there. I believe it would build walls inside and then set them up at the site.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't seeing things but were they demolishing the Buffet Village building on Albert Street?

Looks like Hipperson construction is doing some work at Chateau Tower on the former Barts on Broad Location. As well, people are working away at the former 'GIngerz Bistro' on Broad Street.
