Imagine how many unrelated to slc development articles we could have posted all all this LAME wasted space discussion what should and shouldn't be in this thread.

For the most part I love our threads just the way they are- Even when things get a little heated or off topic! (For instance: this isn't the transit thread but I am STOKED to ride Front Runner tomorrow!)

The only thing that bugged me seems to be rectified- and that was the posting of whole newspaper articles instead of just the links.

Sometimes I don't like scrolling through a whole page of City Creek photos when nothing seems to have changed, but I realize most of you guys love 'em. Can't please everybody right?

Utah:Everything outside the Wasatch Front Dev. Thread This thread would include places like Logan, Tooele, Cedar City, St George etc.

Salt Lake Transit thread This could be changed to a Utah transit thread maybe to cover all of Utah.

Utah Conversation thread This thread would be for anything non-development related. Basically a catch all thread. Ask forumers about college, life, and other utah topics, like green jello, utah weather, politics, religion etc.
I think that would be perfect.

Leave the threads as they are, please. If you don't want to waste your time on a posting, scroll past it.

...Okay, So far this is the current trend. It would seem overly anal at this time to change the Thread arrangement of either Ogden or the Utah Valley and Provo Threads. Those forumers who enjoy those threads know exactly where to go, and placement complaints on those threads is non-existent. (I know there is a little bit of confusion with say a city as close to Downtown as North Salt Lake) If we follow the rule of official MSA directive and of course county boundaries, then the answer regarding placement is evident. "North Salt Lake is Davis County, and Ogden/Clearfield related."

... All Sugarhouse discussion has already been incorporated into the SLC development thread. There have been many great pics, articles, and forum posts regarding Sugarhouse on that specific thread. In order not to lose them into forum oblivion, I will create a Sugarhouse Post today on the Comp. Thread. This Sugarhouse post will be chronicled in the ongoing construction of the Index at the top of page 2 on the Compilations Thread. Again, all future local discussion of Sugarhouse development is on the SLC development thread.

...All Salt Lake MSA resorts development are being posted in the SLC development thread already. Any resorts development related to the Ogden or Provo area will go to their respective MSA

...It would seem from the postings that we are also content for the most part to place Salt Lake airport expansion and discussion of SLC airport related development under the SLC thread.

Still up in the air.

I say continue with the minor adjustments that we have already naturally gravitated toward, as pointed out above. Leave the rest as is, with perhaps a few more minor adjustments. Realize that Salt Lake City Proper is a comparitively unique situation. It will probably remain a smaller city in residential population for many years to come. However, it is rapidly becoming a very big city as the undisputed commercial, religious, and transportation HUB of an uber-booming region. Also, we would be left with a small thread if you consider the natural tendency for forumers to highlight large projects such as 222, CCC, Market Station, Transit projects, etc. with their own individual threads.

As far as the giant Salt Palace, the diagram from the downtown master plan outlining the Salt Palace was in the DRAFT of the master plan and under the picture it stated it needed to be updated. So, I wouldn't pay too much attention to it yet. However, the Salt Palace would be nearly impossible to build up, but it would work to build residential/office towers on top of it. Maybe the roof could be a giant park/greenspace.
UTvision: Just what I was hoping for...some catchy wit. I love SLUT and MODO isn't bad either. Let's see if either catches on. Keep 'em coming.

Why not just split em up by the City boundaries to which the development belongs. Those developments happening in Salt Lake City proper can be posted on the Salt Lake City Development News Thread. All others in the Salt Lake Valley can be posted on a new "Salt Lake Suburbs Demolition, Green Belt Development, News Thread."

I am simply referring to the building by its title from page 1 of this thread and from the downtownrising website. This is the title that it has been referred to all this time. If you don't like it, take it up with someone else.

Don't you find it a little presumptuous or arrogant of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to name the new library "The Church History Library," when it will not be a library for all churches and their history, only Mormon history?
