^I feel like I can see subtle variations in the gray-colored "stuff" in the render that could be indicative of concrete, but maybe I am seeing it because I am thinking of concrete when I look at it. I also doubt that the person responsible for the render would have added "subtle variations" to the surface of the model provided it was concrete. There are, however, clearly seams in the surface of the gray stuff (that would be there whether it was painted or not), so there is substantial detail in the model none-the-less.

As much I would like the concrete to remain bare, it would probably just make me bitter and have to constantly mutter under my breath, "why could't this have been done with Aqua?" everytime I walked by ad nauseam.

^^ Ugh! Here we go with the painted concrete vs. left exposed concrete discussion.

BTW I love the WIT. It is a great addition to a sleepy corner of the Loop. Granted there are HWC students around the corner during the day, but this will add an end cap on N. State Street along with Renaissance Hotel that can provide energy at night.

I'm constantly trying to wrap my head around theWit's design. It looks like it was designed either by two different architects or one with split-personality disorder. It's the love child of Spertus and the Apparel Center.

To me the design says, "... and we decided to put the money over in this corner." Not a fan so far, although some color is nice.

Those sheer concrete walls right against the sidewalk? I doubt they'll work.

I would loose the 80's gold lightning bolt down the center. I think it would look better just as matching glass. Keep the shape, loose the color.

I've never seen a street facing wall in this area with a tag on it... Why would they tag this and not the bottoms of the granite on UniTrin right next door which would still offer a 3' wide canvas?
