Agreed. I miss the old Timmies in general...cakes, pies, eclairs. Then again, my waistline may disagree.

Roll up the Rim to Lose. Anyone else here think that the odds are much worse than what Rim Slowton's claims?

Yeah, I won a couple of coffees, but I must have bought 80 or so during the contest. The only thing that I usually win is coffee dregs on my fingers.

Don't get me started on the Tim's in downtown Calgary.

Always a gong show due to the lack of staff. One morning I went in at 7:30 and the shelves were more barren than a Soviet supermarket. They had no products to sell. When I asked when they'd be ready the guy just gave me a stupid look.

Another time I went in and the cashiers started fighting because each one of them wanted to run my purchase through the till. I had to watch them for a couple minutes before one finally won and got the privledge of serving me.

I could go on, but I won't.

In Hamilton, we recently banned drive-thrus from our downtown area. So rather than keep a non-drive-thru location open in a dense, popular downtown neighbourhood (Kirkendall) they shut it down. Disgusting!

Also, there's another one right in our core @ John/Jackson. The bldg sits about 50 feet back from the street to make room for parking out front. They just spent millions reno'ing the shop, leaving it 50 ft. from John St.

I refuse to eat anything 'cooked' at Horton's. The crap looks nasty and it sits around in a plastic heating tray (that looks like it came from a Fischer Price kitchen set) for HOURS.

Even McDonald's turn-over is better. Blah.

ps: The commercial for it is just as gross! haha

I've seen that a LOT in smaller towns. I go up to Owen Sound a couple times / year, and some of the towns along Hwy6 have these empty shells. I've seen one converted into a real estate office somewhere... I forget now tho.

Tim's is really going downhill, and I think people are starting to realize. That's what happens when you get too cocky w/ your monopoly!

Oh ya! I love the red brick/beige stucco on the new as opposed to the red brick/beige stucco on the old one. I mean c'mon, that old one doesn't even have a sign on it. Pssh. No wonder it closed!

Where in this Tim's, Flar? PP bought an old Tim's at the Queenston Traffic Circle here in Hamilton's east end and converted it, too.

I think that's at Upper Gage and Fennell? If so the older Tims closed because the drive thru is really hard to get into, you have to make a sharp turn, so they built another Tims with better drive thru.

They closed one in Fredericton like that too. It was the first one in the city and the drive-thru came later. You had to loop around out back and the window was on the same side you started at. It worked at least, but not enough for Timmie's.

2 years later, the building's still vacant.

It's (they're) in Wallaceburg. I took this picture over a year ago and it still says Pizza Pizza is opening soon. Half of the building was turned into a cheque cashing store over the winter--that might tell you something about Wallaceburg's economic health. They did the exact same thing with another Tim Horton's store in Wallaceburg. The old building in that case became a Harvey's.

It's shaped like every other Tim Horton's. The old one had a small amount of originality. How dare it!! It must conform!

A new Tim Horton's here actually has a different shape than all the other Tim Hortonses. It isn't too different, but it is marginally more interesting. I wish they had more variety, though. We have at least 9 Tim Horton's that look exactly the same. While on the other hand, no two Robin's Donuts are the same.

Yeah, Canadian Tire does the same thing. Across Canada, there is a veritable graveyard of discared old CT formats. Sometimes with the sign taped over with duct tape.
