Some twilight photos, 4/5/08. Still hobbling around on my bad knee. Just walked over to the convention center parking lot for a few quick photos.

View outside our building:

Lots and lots of sport bikes downtown this weekend:

Wow - I'm glad you pointed that out. I hadn't been to Barton Springs Pool in quite some time, but when you're on Barton Springs Rd and cross the creek you get a head-on view of Whole Foods Market. I took this today:

Then, I went over to Barton Springs Pool and sure enough - 360 is right in the middle

I like the blend of urban and nature, but that's just me

Great twilight pictures, priller. Sorry about your bad knee. If it's any consolation, my feet and back are killing me right now. At the rate we're both going, you and I may be in wheelchairs for the forum meet next weekend.

It sure was a beautiful day today.

Hey, you might be right in my case. Really like the pic from the pool.

Nice shots Mike. I saw a picture somewhere showing 360 from that view. But it wasn't very good.

@ priller, for some reason I was thinking The Plaza with those balconies.

The Hilton has that one curved bulge on its south side. Don't they call that a "bay window" in houses? I'm not sure if I've ever noticed it before, myself.

I dont have a picture to show but did anyone get to see the The Monarch lights across the top???

Very dissapointing and 1992ish. Multicolored bulbs that change color every half second. I really hope it doesn't stay like that.

I want to see that. Didn't One Congress Plaza used to have the changing colors thing going on? I thought I remember seeing that when I was a little kid.

I saw the Monarch lights for the first time tonight. Can't say I like it. At least they're very subtle, you can ignore them easily. The disappointing thing is that the Monarch's top could be very dramatic at night, if lit well.

Well there should be more lighting to come I believe. I myself think it looks neat and is something Austin has never had before. I do not believe One Congress Plaza ever had changing lights like that. They have always been one color.

Cool list. But I think the 21C tower portion isn't scheduled to break ground until 2010.

But the good news is I think you may safely be able to add the W, the new Marriott, and even Ovation starting sometime within your timeframe...

I was on the river this morning and looking at AMLI, it looked like they were installing the green lighting on the east side of the building to match the west side. Did anyone else notice this?

Actually, I believe both the hotel and condo structures will be delivered in 2010 - but at different times during that year. At least that is what is implied from the AAS article in the subject.
