21c museum towers look good! Any estimate how it tall? If it s 13 feet each floor x 49 floors = 637 feet.. Estimate at 650 feet?

Probably won't be quite that tall. Condo towers aren't 13' per floor. Austonian is 622' to the main roof, for 56 stories. 360 is 484' to the main roof for 44 stories.

If this thing is 49 stories, we're probably looking at 550' plus or minus to the peak.

went to eat a the new steak buffet down on fourth street lord have mercy Im stuffed. Whell just in one day the austonian added the elevator shaft support for the 2nd floor and they appear to be working at a good solid clip. The legacy is on the 25th floor and the Altavida is now starting on 19. Spring is on the 5th or so. As for the condominium 21c project. considering where it is located look for it to sprout up quickly like the legacy did. that is starting quickly. Yes at 49 floors looks to be around 555 feet or so and will tower over the legacy. This could give Austin a good 2 mile gap between major highrises as considered to be the farthest west and east.

And KVUE did say this afternoon that the new 21C tower would be the tallest building in Austin. I doubt that though. I would expect it to be at least 580 feet (same as the original design which was 4 floors less), but wouldn't be surprised to see it at 600 to 630 feet.

Great pictures! Really great vantage points there. All of them were nice, but especially the ones of 360 and Monarch. The lighting in them is gorgeous. What kind of camera do you have? Legacy looks amazing on the skyline.

Thanks Kevin. I just have a Nikon D40. It came with a photo-editing program called picture project and you can brighten, straighten the horizon, sharpen, add color booster, etc.

Most of my original photos are like my hair. They need to be re-touched.

Really nice set of photos! 360 looks amazing in that last shot. Can't wait for them to finish the outside and get rid of all that plastic wrap they have around the balconies.

I drove north on South Lamar for the first time in years recently and at one point 360 is positioned right in the middle of it, looking huge.

Legacy is really starting to dominate that view from I-35. And it still has about 6-7 more floors to go.

Looking at those photos, it's interesting to see how small the footprint of Austonian really is. Tall and slender...considerable small in plan than most of the others.

It'd be nice if 21c got to 600'...but I'll bet you a breakfast taco it won't.

if anyone has been in Barton Springs this year, then you'll notice that 360 sits right in the center looking down the creek.

Kinda cool but I can see why some natives probably wont like it.

I'm not a too big of a fan of that view. As much as I admire the 360, I like the idea of Austin having a separate side to the town where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city. I guess I'm half hippie, as is Austin in a way.

Thanks. My favorite types of vantage points are those where I can be at least a little bit above the street level - like a highway overpass or embankment, an outside stairwell of a building, the top deck of a parking garage, the upper floor of a hotel that has windows at the ends of the hallways, etc.

I haven't resorted to climbing trees....yet.

Some of the cypress trees along Lady Bird Lake near Zilker are up to 85 feet tall (or so I read once). Can you imagine being up in one of those?

The photos from a distance that look to be from the SE really show a scrunched density which is deceiving, but quite nice. I sometimes wish I lived near that viewing area, it shames the view from the North central. All is good though. The mention of 21c being taller than The Austonian is not accurate, as Kevin noted it should be in the sub 600 ft area. But I really like the design of the condo tower I haven't made up m mind what to think of the hotel element. Nice pics Mike.

Oh and monarch is looking close to finish of the exterior, it has a decent color scheme and the eyebrows / wings really add to the building, which would be very plain otherwise.

No they have not lit 360 yet, but...
