They are driving down the large metal beams into the ground of Phase II. Excavation will follow shortly.

Looks like they are starting level 3 of Phase I.

Scince theyve come out of the ground, it's been going up almost one floor a week, should go pretty fast, first move-in's are sheduled for this spring...

I talked to a construction worker on site. They are still driving the metal beams into the ground last week.

now that's a pace of construction that I like.

Is it just me or is the pace of building in other city's a lot quicker?
Like why does it take 3 years to erect a 24 story condo ex Claridge Plaza.
The Chicago spire will probably be done before the second tower of Claridge Plaza.

^Claridge Plaza broke ground almost exactly 2 years ago. I remember because seeing the old retail building come down was what prompted me to join this forum.

I joined the forum a couple of years ago when I started looking for a condo here in Ottawa (that would be an interesting thread: When did you join SSP and why?). The fact that I still own a small piece of that hole in the ground at Bank and Laurier also shows how slow things get built here. I guess we have to accept that we're not Toronto/Calgary/Vancouver and that there isn't demand for their style of speedy construction turnover.
